3 COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
4 RESOLUTION REQUESTING DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS TO DESIGNATE
BUSINESS ROUTE COLD 99E)

6 WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of this board that
7 upon comple tion of the Chico Freeway, the Division of Highways
8 will relinquish to the County of Butte and the City of Chico,
9 all that portion of present Sign Route 99E from a point 0.6 mile
10 south of Centerville Road, to 4.5 miles north of Chico; and
11 WHEREAS, said Division will designate said relinquished
12 route through a portion of the County of Butte and the City of
13 Chico as a "business route" upon request of the County, provided
14 that the County will agree to install and maintain directional
15 signs on that portion of said route that will be under the juris-
16 diction of tha County; and
17 WHEREAS, it is in the public interest that said route be so
18 designated;
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF
20 THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, AS FOLLOWS, TO WIT:
21 1. That this board do, and it does hereby, request the
22 Division of Highways, upon relinquishment of that portion of Sign
23 Route 99E extending through a portion of the County of Butte and
24 the City of Chico, to designate the same as a business route, the
25' course of said route being all of P~ k Avenue, Main Street, Broad-
26 way, and The Esplanade, extending through the City of Chico and a
27 portion of the County of Butte.
28 2. In consideration of the Division of Highways so designat-.
29 ing said route, the County of Butte hereby agrees to install and
30 maintain signs along that portion of said route under its juris-
31 diction, appropriately designating said route as a business route.
32 3. That the Clerk of this board be, and she is hereby directe

to deliver a certified copy of this resolution to the Division of
Highways, District ITT, Marysville, California, and the chairman
of the Board of Supervisors is authorized to execute any required
documents supplementary to carrying out the purposes of thi~re-
solution.
