HOUGHTON to the position of Sealer of Weights and Measures, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AS FOLLOWS: 1. That JOHN W. HOUGHTON is hereby appointed as County Seala of Weights and Measures, and that the appointment be effective and his term of office to commence as of the lst day of March, 1966, 2. That his compensation shall be that of Range 31, as provided in Butte County Ordinance No. 854, and that he shall be appointed to commence at Step 6 of said range,. upon effective date of said Ordinance. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that at any time a general increase it compensation or benefits is granted county employees, the said salary classification shall be reviewed and reconsidered. PARADISE UNIFIER SCHOOL DISTRICT MAXIMUM TAX RATE MEASURE 9 10' 11 12' 13 14 15. is 1'7 18 19 20 211 22 23 24 25 26' 27- 28: 29 3Q `. 31 32 'Shall the Paradise Unified School District's maximum tax rate be increased from $2,20 ~o $2.75 YES . on each $100.00 of assessed valuation, such rate to be in effect in said school district for the NO . school years 1966-1967 to 1968-1969, inclusive? be and the same is hereby consolidated with the Direct Primary Election to be held in Butte County, and throughout the State of California, on Tuesday, June 7, 1966, and this Board hereby con- sents to said consolidation. 2. The election precincts, polling places and voting booths for said special district maximum tax rate election and said direct primary election shall in every case be the same and there shall be only one set of election officers in each precinct for both of said elections, The precincts, polling places and election officers for said special district maximum tax rate election shall be those designated and appointed for said direct primary election in that certain notice to b e given by the County Clerk of Butte County of the election officers appointed and polli. places designated for each precinct far said direct primary election, which notice is to be published pursuant to Elections Code Section 1622, to which notice reference is hereby specifical made for a designation of precincts, polling places and election officers for said special district maximum tax rate election. All proceedings had in the premises shall be recorded in the election papers for said direct primary election and, except as hereinafter stated, said elections shall be held in all respects as though there were only one election. The Board of Supervisors -2- 1 of Butte County will canvass the results of said special district 2 maximum tax rate election and will certify the results to the 3 Governing Board of said district and to the County Superintendent 4 of Schools. 5 3. The County Clerk of said County is hereby ordered and g directed to provide within said territory affected by said consoli 7 dation the election precincts, polling places and voting booths g for each of said elections hereby consolidated, which in each g case shall be the same, and there shall be only one set of elect- 10 ion officers in each of said precincts. Said County Clerk is fur- 11; ther ordered and directed to print upon each of the ballots to be Z2 used at said Direct Primary Election, within said territory affect 13 ed by said consolidation said district maximum tax rate measure se 14 forth in Section 1 of this resolution. Said County Clerk is 15 further ordered and directed (i) to set forth on all sample ballot 16: relating to said Direct Primary Election and to be mailed to the 17 qualified electors of the district within said territory affected lg' by said consolidation said district maximum tax rate measure, and 19 mail to said qualified electors of the district in said territory 20 said sample ballots and also polling place cards signed by said 21 County Clerk relating to said special school district maximum tax 22 rate election in the time and in the form required by law, and (ii 23 tc provide absent voter ballots for said Direct Primary Election a 24 said special school district maximum tax rate election hereby 2g: consolidated therewith for use by the qualified electors of the 26 district within said territory affected by said consolidation who 27: may be entitled to such absent voter ballots in the manner provide 28 by law. In the event no non-partisan ballot is to be provided at 29 said Direct Primary Election for use within the district, then 30 the County Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to cause to 31 be printed in kyle and form required by law a special ballot 32 upon which shall appear said district maximum tax rate measure -3- 7 8, 9 10 11 I2 ~ 13 1~' 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 29 30 31. 32 for use by non-partisan voters at said special district maximum tax rate election consolidated with said Direct Primary Election. The County Clerk is further authorized to charge to the district the additional expense of printing upan the sample and official ballots for use in said territory said district maximum tax rate measure to be submitted to the qualified electors of the district, and such other incidental expenses as may be incurred solely by reason of this order of cansolidation. IT IS HEREBY FOUND AND DETERMIN:k~ that the boundaries of the district are coterminous with the boundaries of the Butte County Election Precincts to be used at said Direct Primary Electic excepting that only portions of Butte County Election Precincts designated Sterling City, ~~orest Ranch, Yankee Hill, Centerville, De Sabla, Nimshew, Magalia, and Paradise 9, 12, 14 and 21, are within the boundaries of the district. Said portions of said designated precincts are hereby established as special district precincts for the purpose of said special district maximum tax rate election. Pursuant to the second and third sentences of Elections Code Section 23304, (a) said special district maximum tax rate election is hereby consolidated with said Direct Primary Election as to said special district precincts, each of which lies entirely within one of said designated precincts for said Direct Primary Election; and (b) ballots containing said district bond measure shall be provided for those voters in any of said desig- nated precincts who reside within any of said special district precincts and::aeparate ballots without said district maximum tax rate measure shall be provided for those voters who reside within any of said designated precincts but not in any of said special district precincts. Sample ballots setting forth said district maximum tax rate measure shall be mailed to all voters residing within any of said designated precincts who reside within any of said special district precincts and sample ballots without said n, -4- B 7 8: 9 10 Zl 12 z3. 14 T5 I6: 17 18', 19- 20- 21 22 23` 24 25, 28' 27 28 29 30 31 maximum tax rate measure shall be mailed to all voters residing within any of said designated precincts but not in any of said special district precincts, except that if it cannot be determined by the records of the County Clerk which voters in any one of said designated precincts reside in the special district precinct within said designated precinct, said district maximum tax rate measure shall be set forth on all sample ballots mailed to the voters in the designated precinct in which such special district precinct is located and the polling place cards mailed with such sample ballots shall contain a statement to the effect that only ', voters residing within the district shall be e~.ttled'to receive ~ official ballots containing said district maximum tax rate measure and to vote on said district maximum tax rate measure, 4. Certified copies of this resa.lution shall be forwarded by the County Clerk to the Governing Boa rd of the district and to the County Superintendent of Schools.
