COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION REGARDING BUTTE COUNTY PARTTCIFATION TN
ANTI-POVERTY PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the current funding of the Anti-Poverty Program in
Butte County is 90 per cent Federal and 10 per cent County; and
WHEREAS, the 10 per cent County share is in lieu, made up of
employees' services and operations in existing County agencies; and
WHEREAS, it has been proposed the County of Butte assume 50
per cent of the financing of the Anti-Poverty Program in August,
1967; and
W~EAS, the small property owner and taxpayer of Butte
County is to the point that he can stand no additional 'ourden in
taxes,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors
!of the County of Butte that they da not intend to involve any more
than the present 10 per cent sharing of the costs allocated to the
Anti-Poverty Program as is now provided for by Federal law.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of this Board be
directed to transmit true copies of this resolution to the Presiden
of the United States, the United States Attorney General, the Gover
nor of the State of California, the Honorable Stan Pittman, Senator
from Butte County, the Honorable Ray Johnson, Assemblyman represent
ing the County of Butte, the Honorable Harold T. "Bizz" Johnson,
United States Congressman, and all other interested officials and
legislators as may be directed by the Chairman of this Board.
PARSED AND ADOPTED this 15th day of February, 1966, by the
following vote:
