BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
l; COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
2 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING BUTTE COUNTY HOSPITAL
AS A CaMMUNITY HOSPITAL

~'. WHEREAS, effective March 1, 1966, the basic health care fog
5., indigents and others is prescribed in the Welfare and Institut-
6I ions Code, commencing Section 14000; and
7 WHEREAS, pursuant to said sections the Board of Supervisor,
8 may authorize the County Hospital to integrate its services with
9. those of other hospitals into a syste_Tn of community service which
10',. offers free choice of hospitals to those requiring hospital care,
Zl~ NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF SUPII2VISORS OF THE COUN'T'Y OF
12 BUTTE hereby authorizes the County Hospital to integrate its
13 services with those of ether hospitals into a system of community
I4 service, and further authorizes the Medical Director of Butte
15 County Hospital to require the assignment of hospital insurance
16 benefits to the County of Butte, or a cash deposit as security
i7; for payment of hospital or medical bills. All patients classi-
18' fied as medically indigent shall be required to sign a reimburse-
19' ment agreement and mortgage in the form prescribed by said
20 Director, providing therein for a lien to the County of Butte,
2L; pursuant to Part 5, Division 9 of the Welfare and Institutions
22 Code, except when this requirement is prohibited by Federal or
23', State law.
24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any sick or injured person
2S may be admitted to the Butte County Hospital as an in-patient or
26. as anout-patient.
27 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
28 County of Butte, State of California, at the regular meeting
29' thereof on the 1st day of March, 1966, by the following vote:
