HomeMy WebLinkAbout66-104~~ I RESOLUTION N0. 66~~~~ BOARD OF SUPERVISORS 1 COUNTY OF BUTTE, 'STATE OF CALIFORNIA 2 RESOLUTION ORDERING THE LAS PLUMAS SCHOOL DISTRICT TO BE LAPSED AND ORDERING THE LAPSED DISTRICT TO BE ANNEXED TO THE GOLDEN 3 FEATHII2 UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT (SECTIONS 2701 THROUGH 2704 OF THE EDUCATION CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA) 4 Fi WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Schools of the County or g Butte, State or California, has reported to the Board of Super- ry visors that the Las Plumas School District, during the fiscal g year ending June 30, 1965, had an average daily attendance, in g grades one through eight, of less than six, and that the Las 10 Plumas School District in Butte County has been organized more 11 than three years; and 12 WHEREAS, the Superintendent of Schools of Butte County has 13 recommended that all the territory of the Las Plumas School I4 District be annexed to the Golden Feather Union School District, 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED BY THE BOARD OF lg SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AS lq FOLLOWS: lg 1. That the Las Plumas School District, in the County of lg Butte, be declared to be lapsed. 20 2. Evans County Superintendentei Schools 278 Nelson Avenue ~~,~' Oroville, California 3+~ ~~,'~` J~~~7 ~' ~'~' "' ~~ June 23, 1966 ,~ F , y ~, ~ ,Y. {~` E~ ~ 6 t ~.~~ ~ ,:~ s.-~, ~~~` ~:~ The Honorable Board of Supervisors County of Butte Courthouse Oroville, California Gentlemen: Pursuant to the provisions in Sections 270T through 2705 of the Education Code of the State of California please be informed that the Average Daily Attendance in grades one through eight in the school maintained by the Las Plumas School District, County of Butte, has been less than six (6) during the fiscal year ending June 30, 1966. Said Las Plumas School District has been organized more than three (3) years, In addition to this report the County Superintendent of Schools is required, in Section 2703 of the Education Code, to recommend to the Board of Supervisors the district or districts to which the territory may best be annexed after the district has been lapsed. It is my recommendation that the entire territory now contained within the Las Plumas School District be annexed to the Golden Feather Union School District, an adjacent school district in Butte County. The County Superintendent's Office will be pleased to provide further information or counsel which will permit action by the Board as required in Sections 2704 and 2705.
