¢ RESOLUTION AND NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ABANDON COUNTY
HIGHWAY AND NOTICE OF' TIME AND PLACE OF HEARING (Sections
6 956.8 and 958, Streets and Highways Code)
,6 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF
7 BUTTE, STATE OF' CALIFORNIA, as follows:
g: 1. That it is the intention of the Board of Supervisors
g' to abandon the county highway hereinafter described, pursuant to
10 Section 956.8 of the Streets and Highways Code of this state.
11 2. That the hearing on this Resolution To Abandon County
12 Highway shall 'oe held on Tues-day, the 2nd day of August, 1966, at
13 11:00 A.M. of said day in the Supervisors' Room in the Butte
14 County Courthouse, fronting on Huntoon Street in Oroville, Calif-
15 ornia, at which time said board wi11 hear evidence of any party
16 interested.
17 3. That this resolution and notice is adopted pursuant to
lg a motion of the Board of 'Supervisors of the County of Butte,
lg State of California.
20 4. That a copy of this resolution of intention shall be
21 published in the Oroville Mercury, a newspaper of general circu-
22 lation in the County of Butte, and copies conspicuously posted,
23 all as required by Section 958 of said Streets and Highways Code.
24 5. That the county highway, the subject of this resolution
2g and notice, is situate in the County of Butte, State of Califor-
26 nia, and described as follows:
27 A portion of Lot 116, as shown on that certain map
entitled "Town of Richvale" which map was recorded in
2g the Office of the Recorder of said County of Butte, in
Book 6 of Maps, at Page 53, described as follows:

Commencing at the point of the intersection of the
3a centerline of Rice Avenue with the centerline of First
Street of said town; thence on the centerline of said
31 Rice Avenue South 88°17'00" East, 463.40 feet; thence
North. 15°14'00'" West, 31.36 feet to the true point of
32 beginning; said paint lying 100 feet southwesterly

measured at right angles from the centerline of main
track of the Southern Pacific Company at or near En-
gineers Station 1391. 60 .b; thence on the northerly line
of said Rice Avenue, north 88°17'00" West, 62.72 feet;
thence paralleling said centerline of tracks, at a dis-
Lance of 160.00 feet therefrom North 15°14'00" West,
81.14 feet; thence North 74 46'00" East, 1.00 feet;
thence Narth 15 14'00" West, parallel to and a distance
of 159.00' fromosaid centerline of main track, 145.00 feet;
thence South 74 46'00" West, 1.00 feet; thence North l5--
14'00" West, parallel to and at a distance of 160.00 feet
from said centerline of track, 924.80 feet; thence North
0°36'00" East 219.31 feet to a point which lies 100 feet
southwesterly measured at right angles from said center-
line of main track; thence South 15°14'00" East, 1380.80
feet to the point of beginning, and containing an area of
1.740 acres more or less.

County of Butte, State of California, this 5thday of July, 1966,

Your Honorable Board adopted Resolution No, 66°106,
pursuant to the January 1966 petition of the undersigned,
Southern Pacific Company, a corporation, setting for public
hearing the proposed closing to public use for road or street
purposes of a certain 1.740-acre parcel of land in Butte County,
California, more particularly described in such petition.
Upon further consideration of this matter, the under-
signed withdraws said petition to abandon and close to public
use for road or street purposes the above property.

Dear Sir:
Please refer to Resolution No. 66-106 of the Board of
Supervisors of Sutte County and hearing before the Board at
11:00 A.M. on August 2, 1966, in the Board of Supervisors'
Room, County Courthouse, Oroville, California, concerning the
petition filed by Southern Pacific Company requesting vacation
to public use for road or street purposes of a 1.740-acre par-
cei of land, being a portion of Lot 116 as shown on the certain
map entitled Town of Richvale, recorded in the office of the
Recorder of Butte County in Book of Maps`at page 53, more par-
ticularly described in such petition.
Southern Pacif is Company has been advised by Butte County
Rice Growers Association that it is opposed to the above peti-
tion to the extent it may affect any existing roads on the above
parcel of land. The Board of Supervisors of Butte County is
respectfully requested to continue the hearing to be held in
this matter to the last week of September 1966, in order that
information may be developed and considered as to the use of
the parcel of land for road purposes by the Butte County Riee
Growers Association.

petition, Southern Pacific Company respectfully requests the Board
of Supervisors of Butte County to continue the above hearing in
this matter to the last week of November, 1966, to permit further
consideration to be given by the undersigned to the nature and extent
of the use of such parcel of land for road purposes by members of
the Butte County Rice Growers Association.
