RESOLUTION N0. 66- 113
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
ORDER AND RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE
COUNTY OF BUTTE PROVIDING FOR CONSOLTIIATION OF AN ELECT-
ION FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A JUNIOR COLLEGE DISTRICT
WITH THE GENERAL STATE-WIDE ELECTION TO BE HELD NOVEMBER.
STH, 1966 ,
WHEREAS, the Butte County Committee on School District
Organization, as required by Section 3003 of the Education Code
of the State of California, did prepare and submit to the State
Board of Education a master plan for school district organization
in Butte County, including provisions pertaining to the establish-
ment of a junior college district; and
WHEREAS, the State Board of Education did approve, on
April 15, 1966, certain portions of said master plan as su'mitted,
including that portion pertaining to the establishment of a junior
college district; and
WHEREAS, Section 3007 of the Education Code provides that
any election required to carry out the proposals of a master plan
shall be called and conducted by the County Superintendent of
Schools, and that said election shall be held within two years
after the date of approval by the State Board of Education; and
WHF~E2EAS, a special election pertaining to the establishment
of a junior college district in Butte County has been called, and
the same be held in all of Butte County except that territory
known as the former Clipper Mills and Forbestown School Districts
of said county, these now being a part of the Yuba Junior College
District, at which election shall be submitted to the qualified
electors the measures shown on Exhibit "A", which is attached
hereto and made a part hereof as if set forth in full; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, has received a resolution of the superintend-
ent of schools, County of Butte, requesting a consolidation of an
1 election for the establishment of a junior college district with.
2 the general election to be held November 8, 1966; and
3 WHEREAS, a general election will be held in Butte County
4 and throughout the State of California on November 8, 19.66, and it
5 is the desire of the County Superintendent of Schools that a
6 special election pertaining to the establishment of a junior colleg
7 district in said County of Butte be consolidated with said general
8 election,
9 NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT ORDERED AND RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
10 SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AS
11 FOLLOWS
12 1. That the special election for the formation of the
13 junior college district and the election of its board be consoli-
14 dated with the general election which will be held in Butte County
15 and throughout the State of California on November 8, 1966.
16 - 2. That the propositions set forth in Exhibit "A", which
17 is attached hereto and made a part hereof as if set forth in full,
Zg shall be on the ballot for the consolidated election in the same
19 general form as set out in the aforementioned Exhibit "A".
20 3. That the County Clerk of Butte County is hereby authori-
21 zed to canvass or cause to be canvassed the returns of said special
22 election with respect to the votes cast on the measure relating to
23 the formation of a j unior college district in Butte County, and the
24 votes cast for each of the candidates for the governing board of the
2B proposed district, in said territory affected by said consolidation;
26 and to certify such canvass of the votes for and against said mea-
27 sure and the votes cast for each of th.e candidates for the governin€
28 board to the County Superintendent of Schools.
