RESOLUTION NO.~~~~6 _; ~ _. ~;~ ~ C's..- ~ (' ~~_._. 2 ~ ... ~,S •.:i~ v BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF BUTTE COUNTY ORDERING CONSOLIDATION OF A SPECIAL BOND ELECTION TO BE HELD IN PARADISE IRRIGATION DISTRICT OF BUTTE COUNTY WITH THE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD NOVEMBER 8, 1866 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of Paradise Irri- gation District (hereinafter called the "District") has called, and proposes to pass a resolution ordering and providing for, a band election to be held in the District on Tuesday, November $, 1866, and has requested the Board of Supervisors of Butte County, to order a aansolidatian of said special bond election with the General Election to be held in Butte County and throughout the State of. California, on Tuesday, November $, 1966, and has further authorized this Board of Supervisors to canvass or cause to be canvassed the returns of said special bond election from the territory affected by said consolidation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Super- visors of Butte County as follows; 1. The special bond election to be held in Paradise Irrigation District on Tuesday, November 8, 1966, at which election there shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the District the two measures and each of them of incurring a bonded indebtedness of the District for the purposes set forth in the following measures, to wit: 1 PARADISE IRRIGATION DISTRICT BOND MEASURES Nii:ASi3R~' (A): s~ia1.1 Paradi~c; Irri~~;at'EOn (~65 Praiect (A)) District incur a bonded indebtedness in the a.g•- gregate amount of $1,778,000 for the follow- • ing object and purpose, to wit: improvement • of the District's water transmission and • distribution system by construction of new • water mains and appurtenances, four new YES . • reservoirs and a pump station, pipes, valves, • pumps, equipment, lands, easements, rights of • way and the acquisition of all necessary • property for said works and far the purposes • of said District and otherwise carrying out • the purposes of the Water Code of the State . • of California; said object and purpose com- • prising 1965 Project (A) approved by the • Board of Directors of the District and by the NO . • Gallfornia Districts Secuz•ities Commission by - • its Order No. 55 dated Povember 19, 1965, and • Sts Order No. 56 dated January 2l, 1966, now : • on file in the office of the Board of Direc- • tors of the District? • MEASURE {B): Shall Paradise Irr~.gation • (1965 Pro~eet (B)) District incur a bonded - • Indebtedness in the aggre- • gate amount of $5,it~i2,000 for the follawin~; - ob~ect and purpose, to wit: increase of the yES • District's water supply by acquisition of land • and land rights and construction of anew dam, • reservoir, outlet works and spillway; and the • acquisition of all necessary property for said • works and for the purposes of the District and • otherwise carrying out tY:e purposes of the Water Gode of the State of California; said ' object and purpose comprising 1~}65 Project (B) approved by the Board of Directors of the Dis- ' triet and by the California Districts Securi- ties Commission by its Order No. 55 dated NO : • November 19, 1955, and its Order No. 56 dated • January 21, 166, now on file in the office • of the Board of Directors of the District? be and the same is hereby consolidated with the General Election to be held in Butte County, and throughout the State of California, on Tuesday, November 8, ig66, and this Board hereby orders said consolidation. 2. The returns of said special bond election from said territory affected by said consolidation shall be canvassed or caused to be canvassed by the Board of Supervisors of Butte County in accordance with the request of the Board of Directors of the District and said consolidated special election and General Election shall be held within said territory affected by said consolidation in all respects as though there were only one election. Said measures and each of them of incurring bonded indebtedness shall be set forth in each ballot to be used at said Qeneral Election insofar as the same is held within said territory affected by said consolidation. The returns of said special bond election in said territory, when canvassed, shall be reported by this Board of Supervisors to the Board of Directors of the District. 3. The County Clerk of said County is hereby ordered and directed to provide within said territory affected by said consolidation the election precincts, polling places and voting booths for each of said elections hereby consolidated, which Sn each ease shall be the same and there shall be only one set of election officers in each of said precincts. Said County Clerk is further ordered and directed to print upon each of the ballots to be used at said Qeneral Election within said territory affected by said consolidation said District Bond Measures and each of them set forth in Section 1 of this resolution. Said County Clerk is further ordered and directed (i) to set forth on all sample ballots relating to said Qeneral Election and to be mailed to the qualified electors of the District within said territory affected by said 3 consolidation said District Bond Measures and each o£ them, and to mail to said qualified electors of-the District in said. territory said sample ballots and also polling place cards signed by said County Clerk relating to said elections in the time and in the form required by law, and (ii) to provide absent voter ballots for said Qeneral Election and said special bond election hereby cansolidated therewith for use by the qualified "electors of the District within said territory affected by said consolidation who may be entitled to such absent voter ballo~ta in the manner provided by law. The County Clerk is further authorized to charge to the District the additional expense of printing upon the sample and official ballots for use in said territory said District Bond Measures and each of them to be _" submitted to the qualified electors of the District, and such other incidental expenses as may be incurred solely by reason of this-order of consolidation. 4. Certified copies of this resolution shall be fo'r- warded by the County Clerk to the Board of Directors of the District.
