COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION APPROVING A WORKSHOP FOR SPEECH THERAPISTS IN RURAL COUNTIES OF
NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. TO BE CONDUCTED BY BUTTE COUNTY SUPERINTENDENT OF
SCHOOLS
WHEREAS, poor speech is among the most crippling of the defects
of the physically handicapped child, and therefore a£ primary concern to him
and to those who teach him; and
WHEREAS, his teachers and therapists need to keep abreast of the
many new techniques that medical research is developing for the education
and training of this type child; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Public Health has agreed to
provide funds for the Butte County Superintendent of Schools to cnnduct
a workshop to acquaint teachers and therapists with these findings of
research;
NOW,. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE $OARD OF SUPERVISORS OF
THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AS FOLLOWS:
That approval be granted to the~Butte County Superintendent of
Schools to conduct a workshop for the speech therapists of the rural
counties of Northern California, to be financed entirely by funds provided
by the Department of Public Health of the State of California.
This Resolution will not obligate the County of Butte in future years.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Butter Skate of California, this 16 day of August, 1966, by the following
vote:
AYES: SUPERVISORS MAXON, McKILLOP, HOWSDEN, PIIYDE, and
NOES: NONE. CHAIA.MAN GILES.
ABSENT: NONE.
