HomeMy WebLinkAbout66-139~~~~~ RESOLUTION N0. 66-139 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF BUTTE COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of the Consolidation of ) } Special Municipal Bond Election to be ) held in the City of Chico, State of ) California, with the State of Califor- ) nia General Election to be held ) November 8, 1966. ) ) WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Chico (herein- after called the "City") proposes to hold a special municipal bond election in the City on Tuesday, November 8, 1966, and has requested the Board of Supervisors of Butte County {here- inafter called the "County") to order the consolidation of said special municipal bond election with the State of Cali- fornia General Election to be held in the State of California and in the County on Tuesday, November 8, 1966, and has fur- ther authorized the Board of Supervisors of the County to canvass or cause to be canvassed the returns of said special municipal bond election; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of Butte County, as follows: 1. The special municipal bond election to be held in the City on Tuesday, November 8, 1966, at which there shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the City the follow- ing City Bond Measures, to wit: 1 CITY OF CHICO BOND MEASURES , MEASURE ( ): Shall the City of Chico , (Municipal incur a bonded indebted- , Building) Hess in the principal amount of one million three hundred thousand dollars ($1,300,000) YES for the acquisition, construction and tom- . pletion of the following municipal improve- ment, to wit: Anew municipal building to provide for the administration of city gov- , ernment, including council chambers and offices for public officials and departments, off-street parking for city and public ve- hicles, and landscaping; together with fur- . niture, fixtures, apparatus and equipment therefor; lands, rights of way, curbs, gutters, sidewalks and other site improve- NO menta; and other works, property or stru~- tures necessary or convenient for a new municipal building for the City of Chico? , MEASURE ( ): Shall the City of Chico (Municipal incur a bonded indebted- . Services Center) Hess in the principal • amount of five hundred fifteen thousand dollars ($515,000) for the : YES : acquisition, construction and completion of the following municipal improvement, to wit: A new municipal services center, including , construction of automotive and equipment maintenance facilities, general shop facili- ties, automotive and equipment storage area and materials storage facilities; together with furniture, fixtures, apparatus and equipment therefor; lands, rights of way, curbs, gutters, sidewalks and other site im- provements; and other works, property or NO structures necessary or convenient for a new municipal services center for the City of Chico? , shall be, and the same is hereby ordered to be, consolidated with the State of California General Election to be held throughout the State of California, including the County and , the City, on Tuesday, November 8, 1966. 2. The returns of said special municipal bond elec- tion shall be canvassed or caused to be canvassed by the Board of Supervisors of the County in accordance with the re- quest of the Council of the City and said special municipal bond election and said general election shall be held within the City in all respects as though there were only one election. Said City Bond Measures hereinabove set forth shall be set forth in each farm of ballot to be used at said election insofar as the same is held within the City. The returns of said special municipal bond election, when canvassed, shall be reported by the Board of Supervisors of the County to the Council of the City. 3. The County Clerk is hereby ordered and directed to provide within the City the election precincts, polling places and voting booths for each of said elections so con- solidated, which in each case shall be the same, and there shall be only one set of election officers in each of said precincts. The County Clerk is hereby further ordered and directed to print upon each of the ballots to be used at said consolidated general election and special municipal bond election said Measures hereinabove set forth. The County Clerk is further ordered and directed (i) to set forth on all sample ballots relating to said consolidated elections, to be mailed to the qualified electors of the City, said Measures herein- above set forth and to mail with said sample ballots to said electors printed copies of arguments (if any) for and against said Measures, and each of them, and (ii) to provide absent voter ballots for said general election and said special 3 municipal bond election consolidated therewith for use by the qualified electors of the City who may be entitled thereto, in the manner provided by law. The County Clerk is further authorized to charge the City the additional expense of print- ing upon the sample and official ballots for use in the City said Measures hereinabove set forth to be submitted to the qualified electors of the City at said consolidated elections, and such other incidental expenses as may be incurred by reason of this order of consolidation. PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of Butte County this 13th day of September, 1966, by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Howsden, Maxon, McKillop, Pryde and Chairman Giles NOES: None ABSENT; None ha r n of the` oard of upervisors ATTEST: JESSIE ROGERS, COUNTY CLERK oun y er an ex-o c o er of the Board of Supervisors gy: ~.~p Deputy C e lc CLERKS CERTIFICATE I, JESSIE ROGERS , County Clerk of Butte County, State of California, and ex-officio Clerk of the Board of Supervisors thereof, do hereby certify that the foregoing is a full, true and correct copy of a resolution duly adopted at a regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors of said County duly and regularly and legally held at the regular meeting place thereof on the 13th day of September, 1966, of which meeting all of the members of said Board of Supervisors had due notice and at which a majority thereof was present; that at said meet- ing said resolution was introduced by Supervisor Aowcaen and read in full, and was thereupon, upon the motion of Supervisor NowcrlPn , seconded by Supervisor ~ar,~e , adopted by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Howsden, Maxon, McKillop, Pryde and Chairman Giles NOES : None ABSENT: None That I have carefully compared the same with the original minutes of said meeting an file and of record in my office and that said resolution is duly entered of record in said minutes, and said resolution is a full, true and correct copy of the original resolution adopted at said meeting and entered in said minutes. That said resolution has not been amended, modified or rescinded since the date of its adoption and that the same is now in full force and effect.
