4 RESOLUTION APPROVING.ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURE
FOR PROCESSING REQUESTS TO TRANSPORT LOADS
5 ACROSS DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES BRIDGES

WHEREASr WILLIAM E. WARNE, Director of the Department
7
of Water Resources, has in a letter addressed to the Director
8
of Public Works of the County of Butte, dated September 13, 1966,
9
proposed to the County of Butte an administrative procedure for
10
the processing of requests to transport loads across the bridges
11
referred to Department of Water Resources Agreement No. 154502;
12
and
13
WHEREASr said Director, in said letter, suggests that
14
if said procedures are acceptable to the County of Butte and
'15
approved by the County of Butte, that such approval and said
''16
letter shall constitute an agreement on said administrative
17
procedure; and
18
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte
19
does approve said administrative procedure;

NOWT THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors

of the County of Butte, State of California, as follcxvs:
22
1. That the administrative procedure for the processing
23
of requests to transport loads, across the bridges referred to, in
24
paragraph 13 Department of Water Resources Agreement No. 154502,
25
in a manner, or of a size, weight or load not authorized by the
26
provisions of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, as

suggested in the letter of the Director of the Department of
28
Water Resources hereinabove referred to, is hereby approved, `~
29
and that said letter and this resolution shall constitute and
30
become all that is necessary to implement said procedure, as
31
in said letter set forth, or as hereafter modified.

.The foregoing Resolution was adopted and passed this
day of October, 1966, upon roll call by the following vote:

Dear Mr. Castleberry:-
Pursuant to para raph 15 of Department of Water
Resources Agreement No. 15502, the Department and the County
agreed to implement an administrative procedure for the
processing of requests to transport loads across the bridges
referred to in paragraph 13 of said agreement in a manner,
or of a size, weight, or load not authorized by the provisions
of the Vehicle Code of the State of California. In accordance
with your prior discussion with the Department and your letter
to the Department of July 18, 1966, we recommend the following
procedure:
1. Except as hereinafter provided in paragraph 2,
County, on behalf of the Department, wi11 process all requests
to transport extra-1ega1 loads across the bridges referred to
in paragraph 13 of DWR Agreement No. 15~5C~2 in accordance with
the County's current regulations, ordinances and administrative
procedures pertaining to the transportation of extra-legal
loads over the County's highways and bridges.
2. The County shall forward all requests to trans-
port loads in excess of purple ].Dads, as said term is defined
in the State of California, Department of Public Works, Divi-
sion of Highways' Maintenance Manual and any amendment thereto,
to the Distract Director, Department of Water Resources,
Sacramento District, 3251 S Street, Sacramento, California
95816, for prior approval. The District Director will act
upon these requests and return them to the County not later
than two weeks after receipt.
3. County shall transmit, monthly, to the District
Director, Department of Water Resources, Sacramento District,
copies of all applications and approvals issued by .the County
for the preceding month.

~, County will cooperate with the Department in
modifying the procedure set Earth in paragraphs 1, 2 and 3
in the event a need for such modification is necessary.
Tf the procedure set forth in paragraphs 1 through
~+ is acceptable, we request that this letter be submitted to
the County Board of Supervisors at its next meeting and that
the Board be requested to approve the procedure set forth
herein. It is our intent that this letter and the Boards
approval is all that will be necessary to implement this
procedure.
