RESOLUTION N0. 66-169
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS,
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CLATFORNIA,
APPROVING BIDWELL PARK -- 5 MILE DAM,
CHICO, FOR GRANT APPLICATION PURSUANT
TO THE PROVISION OF THE STATE BOND ACT _,._
OF 1964 ~
WHEREAS, the voters of the State of California approved the
State Beach, Parks, Recreation and Historical Facilities Bond Act
of 1964; and
WHEREAS, the Bond Act includes the provisions for grants to
counties and other local park agencies; and
WHEREAS, the Bond Act requires that the Board of Supervisors
of the County in which said grants are to be spent must approve all
projects and grant applications prior to submission of the said
applications to the. State Resources Agency; and
WHEREAS, said Band Act further requires that all proposed
projects must be identified in the General Plan for Butte County;
and
WHEREAS, on the 28th day of June, 1966, the Board of Super-
visors of the County of Butte, State of California reviewed and
amended the Parks and Recreation Plan for Butte County, which had
been established originally on the 26th day of May, 1952; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California did adopt the General Plan for the County of
Butte which includes the Land Use Plan, the. Streets and Highways
Plan, the Parks and Recreation Plan; and
WHEREAS, the. City of Chico will make application for sub-
sidy under the provisions of the State Bond Act of 1964 for the
purpose of development of a regional recreation area, which is
currently included in the Parks and Recreation Plan for Butte
County; and

WHEREAS, the Board of supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, did approve for distribution of the $192,150
which represents the County`s share of the grant as provided in the
State Bond Act for said project; and
WHEREAS, the review by the County of Butte indicated that
'the aforementioned application is generally consistent with the
General Plan for Butte County and with the State requirements for
approval.
NOW, THEREp'ORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors
of the Gounty of Butte, State of California approve the project
entitled Bidwell Park -- 5 Mile Dam, Chico, for $192,150 within the
City of Chico and requests that the State of California process
said application at the earliest possible date.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted on motion by Supervisor
Howsden , seconded by Supervisor Pryde , and said
Resolution was passed on this 29th day of November ,1366 on roll
call by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Howsden, McKi].lop, Pryde and Chairman Giles
NOES: Supervisor Maxon
