HomeMy WebLinkAbout66-1741 2 3 4 S 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 2~k 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 i RESOLUTION N0. 66-~ 77 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION AND ORDER ESTABLISHING JUNIOR COLLEGE AND BOUNDARIES THEREOF, AND ORDER TO FILE THE DESCRIPTION flF THE JUNIOR COLLEGE DISTRICT WITH THE COUNTY ASSESSOR AND STATE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION WHEREAS, the Butte County Superintendent of Schools has certified to the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte that the voters of the proposed district have established a Junior College District according to law, as shown in Exhibit "A-1" and Exhibit "A-2", which are attached hereto and incorporated herein as if set forth in full; and WHEREAS, the boundaries of said Junior College District are attached hereto as Exhibits "B" and "C", which are incorporated herein as if set forth in full; and WHEREAS, Education Code Section 1647 requires the Board of 'Supervisors to make an order to create such, a Junior College Dist- rict; and WHEREAS, Government Code Section 54900 et seq requires the filing of the boundaries of the proposed Junior College District with the County Assessor and State Board of Equalization, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD flF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, as follows: 1. That the Junior College Bistrict is ordered established pursuant to law; 2. That the boundaries of the Junior College District shall be as set out in Exhibits "B" and "C", which are attached hereto and incorporated herein as if set forth in full; 3. Evans, County Superintedent of Schools SUBJECT: Action to Organize New Junior College District ~a.: Shall a junior college district be formed comprising all of Butte County except that portion known as the former Clipper Mills and Forbestown School Districts? The election was called, and held as required by Section 3007 of the Education Code, in the County of Butte except for the territory known as the former Clipper Mills and Forbestown School Districts. The number of votes for and against the proposition, as certified by the Cleric, County- of Butte, herinafter referred to as Exhibit A, was: For the establishment of a junior college district 22,069. Against the establishment of a junior college district 10,$15 A majority of the votes cast being in favor of the proposition I declare that the proposal has carried. A plat showing boundaries of the new district, together with a descriptian thereof, is attached and is to be a part of this certification, with reference to Exhibit Band C, respectively. Education Code Section 3701 states that "An action to organize or reorganize a district is com- plete when the board of supervisors makes the order required by Section 1647." The latter section requires, in part: ".....the board of supervisors shall make an order to create, change, or terminate school districts as may be required by the action and establish or re-establish the boundaries of the districts affected by the action". It is necessary that your order be made in the calendar year 1966, if the effective date of the organization is to be July 1, 1967. Respe~.ful submitte THO S E.
