That parking of vehicles on the Esplanade at Chico, Butte County, California, is prohibited on the following frontages of said Esplanade as follows: Name of Street From To A. Easterly side of center North line of 6th South line of 7th drive of Esplanade Avenue Avenue B. Easterly and westerly North line of 7th South line of side of center drive of Avenue Lindo Channel Esplanade C. Westerly side of the North line of 6th South line of east side drive of Avenue Lindo Channel Esplanade D. Any provision of this Ordinance which regulates traffic or delegates the regulation of traffic upon state highways in any way for which the approval of the Department of Public Works is required by state law, shall cease to be operative six months after receipt by the County Supervisors of written notice of withdrawal of approval of the Department of Public Works. 4. Whenever this Ordinance delegates authority to a County Officer, or authorizes action by the Board of Supervisors to regulate traffic upon a state highway in any way which by state law requires the prior approval of the De- partment of Public Works, no such officer shall exercise such authority nor shall such action by the Board of Supervisors be effective with respect to any state highway without the prior approval in writing of the Department of Public Works when and to the extent required by Division 9 and Division 11 of the Vehicle Code. 5. This Ordinance shall be, and is hereby declared to be in full force effect from and after sixty (SO) days after the date of its passage and before expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage, this Ordinance shall be pub- fished once, with the names of the members of the Board of Supervisors voting for and against it in the Chico Enter rise Record a newspaper published is the Gounty of Butte, State of California. Deputy Clerk -2- APPROVAL OF TRAFFIC REGULATIONS A proposed ordinance of the County of Butte pravides for the prohibition of parking on the easterly side of center drive of Esplanade from the north line of 6th Avenue to the south line of 7th Avenue, and on the easterly and westerly side of center drive of Esplanade from the north line of 7th Avenue to the south line of Lindo Channel, and has been sub- mitted to the Department of Public Works for approval in ac- cordance with Section 22506 of the Vehicle Code. Center drive of the Esplanade is State Highway Route 3, as defined by law. The proposed ordinance, insofar as it relates to State Highway Route 3, is approved as submitted. This approval is made pursuant to delegations of au- thority from the Director of Public Works through the State Highway Engineer to the undersigned Traffic Engineer, which delegations of authority are dated October 1, 1859 and October 7, 1959.
