BOARD OF SUPERVhSORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING HOSPITAL STUDY AND ADVISORY
COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the advent of Medicare and Medi-Cal to provide
medical services for a great portion of the public has made it
possible for eligible persons to select facilities in which they
are to receive care; and
WHEREAS, County of Butte has established a hospital formerly
known as the Butte County Hospital, which has subsequently been
converted to a community hospital providing the ability to receive
pay patients; and
WHEREAS, the community hospital has not been extensively
utilized by pay patients,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RE50LVED by the Butte County Board of
Supervisors that
1. A committee be, and is hereby, established for the
purpose of studying the community hospital and to advise this boar
as to the status of the same, and in particular, but not exclusi-
vely, in the following fields:
(a) The use of the community hospital in relation to the
over-all hospital needs of the county;
(b) The legal responsibility of the county toward medical
indigents who are not covered by~:.either Medicare or
Medi-Cal;
(c) The most economical method for the county to meet its
', legal responsibilities as it relates to hospitalizatio .
~, 2. Membership shall consist of seven (7) persons. Each
board member shall nominate one (1) person, and ~~tgghe Hospital
Committee of the Grand Jury shall nominate two (2~, all of which
shall be appointed by the Butte County Board of Supervisors.
3. A report shall be made to the Butte County Board of
Supervisors by this committee on or before July 1, 1967, which

report, if possible, would indicate recommendations as to the most
desirable and efficient use of the hospital facilities.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors
this 28th day of March, 1967, by the following vote:
AYES: SUPERVI~50RS DUNAG1AYa T1A~N, McKILLOP~ PRYDE,
and ;CHAIRbtAN HOG~SDEN.
NOES: NONE.
