HomeMy WebLinkAbout67-0641 2. 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 RESOLUTION N0. 67-„ BOARD OF SUPERVISORS COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION REQUESTING COMMEMORATIVE STAMP WHEREAS, the Conference of California Historical Societies is endeavoring to request the Post Master General to issue, in 1969, a commemorative postage stamp commemorating California's Bicentennial and honoring Gaspar de Portola and Fray Junipero Serra for establishing the first permanent settlement in Alta California; and WHEREAS, the Butte County Historical Society supports such a request, NOW, THEEtEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of 'Supervisors of the County of Butte that they request the Post Master General to issue, in 1969, a commemorative postage stamp commemorating Calir- ornia's Bicentennial and honoring Gaspar de Portola and Fray Juni- pero Serra for establishing the first permanent settlement in Alta California. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Post Master General of the United States and to Mrs. Garrison Patrick, President of the Butte County Historical Society.
