BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
1 COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
2 RESOLUTION REGARDING CLASSIFICATION OF FEDERAL LANDS
3 WHEREAS, the Bureau of Land Management of the United
4 States has requested the County of Butte to assist in a classi-
5 fication of Federal lands under the Multiple Use Act of 1964; and
6 WHEREAS, this matter was referred to the Planning Commi-
7 ssion of the County of Butte; and
8 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has made recommendations
9 thereon to this Board of Supervisors,
10 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
L1 OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, as follows:
12 That this Board of Supervisors makes the following
13 recommendations to the Bureau of Land Management:
14 1. We recommend to the Bureau of Land Management to
15 dispose of all the public lands which are not included in their
16 present plans for development.
17 2. We recommend that, in the disposing of the public
18 domain, other local public agencies (county, recreation, city and
19 others) be first contacted to ascertain whether or not there are
20 any public uses that could be served, before recommending the
21 disposal to private individuals or organizations.
22 3. That there are certain parcels of land within the
23 public domain that, in the opinion. of the Butte County Department
24 of Public Works, should be acquired by the County for uses such as
25 aggregate supplies for road construction, disposal sites, existing
26 road rights-of-way and for relocation of future roads. These
27 specific sites will be supplemented in the report by Mr. Clay
28 Castleberry, Director of Public Works.
29 4. We recommend that, in the disposal of the public land
30 to private interests for development, the Federal Agency conform
31 to local regulations and provide adequate survey and access on
32 roadways serving the development. We recommend that the fragment-

ary parcels surrounded by private land holdings are uneconomical
to develop for public use and maintain and should be disposed of
for private development and be placed on the tax roll.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California, this 25th day of April, 1967,
by the following vote: ~'
