RESOLUTION NO. 67-~.7
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION IN OPPOSITION TO ASSEMBLY BILL 2410
WHEREAS, there has been proposed legislation entitled
Assembly Bill 2410; and
WHEREAS, this legislation provides for an absolute liabi-
lity of cities and counties for property damage caused by mobs or
riots; and
WHII2EAS, such liability could create a financial catastrophF
to Butte County; and
WHEREAS, it is for the welfare of all of the citizens of
Butte County that this bill be opposed,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, as follows:
1. That they hereby oppose Assembly Bill 241Q as being
obnoxious and catastrophically destructive to the county's finan-
cial status; and
20 That they hereby oppose its passage; and
3. That a copy of tk~is resolution be sent to the Honorable
F~ d Marley, Senator of the State of California, Honorable Ray
Johnson, Assemblyman of the State of California, and to such other
and further interested parties as the board may order.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors
on the 16th day of May, 1967, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dunaway, Maxon, McKillop, Pryde and Chairman Howsden
NOES : None
