BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF SENATE BILLS NOS. 78 AND 79
WHEREAS, the matter of obscenity is a problem extending
from national to local levels; and
WHEREAS, the dissemination of obscene matter to minor
children is of vital concern to all parents and the general public;
and
WHEREAS, the dissemination of abseene matter is destructive
to the moral standards of all citizens; and
WHEREAS, Senate Bills Nos. 78 and 79 have been promulgated
for the purpose of restricting the dissemination of obscene matter,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE as follows:
1. That they endorse and support Senate Bills Nos. 7S and
79.
2. That a copy of this resolution be sent to the Honorable
Ronald Reagan, Governor of the State of California, the Honorable
Ray Johnson, Assemblyman of the State of California, the Honorable
Fred Marler, Senator of the State of California, and to the
Committee On Criminal Procedure of the Assembly of the State of
California, and to such other parties as may be designated by this
board.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California, this 16th day of May
1967, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dunaway, Maxon, McKillop, Pryde and Chairman Howsden
NOES : None
