'I BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
~In Re Issue of Bonds of
CHICO UNIFIED SCHOOL DIS',ERICT
on Behalf of CHICO CITY
SCHOOL DISTRICT 1963 SCHOOL
BONDS, SERIES C
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of Butte County, State
of California, heretofore on the 7th day of April, 1964, duly
passed and adopted its resolution and order providing for the
issuance of $1,900,000.00 principal amount of bonds of Chico
(City School District, designated "1963 School Bonds," as set
'forth in the records of this Board of Supervisors; and,
WHEREAS, in and by said resolution and order said
authorized issue of bonds was divided into series of which
$700,000.00 principal amount were designated "Series A" and the
issuance and sale thereof authorized and directed and said bonds
of Series A in the amount of $700,000.00 have heretofore been
issued and sold and the unmatured portion thereof is now out-
standing; and,
WHEREAS, said resolution provided that the remaining
$1,200,000.00 principal amount of said authorized issue might
be divided into one or more series as the Governing Board of
said District and this Board of Supervisors might determine; and
$850,000.00 principal amount designated Series B have heretofore
been issued and sold and the unmatured portion thereof is now
outstanding; and,
WHEREAS, said resolution provided that the remaining
$350,000.00 principal amount of said authorized issue might be
divided into one or more Series as the Governing Board o£
said District and this Board of Supervisors might determine; and,

$150,000.00 principal amount designated Series C have heretofore
been issued and sold and the unmatured portion thereof is now
outstanding; and,
WHEREAS, the Chico City School District now comprises
part of the Chico Unified School District; and,
WHEREAS, Section 21813 of the Education Code of the
I, State of California authorizes the issue by this Board of Super-
Ivisors of said unsold bonds of Chico City School District in
the name of Chico Unified School District; and,
WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors has received a
certified copy of a resolution duly adopted by the Governing
Board of said Chico Unified School District on the 12th day of
(January, 1967, prescribing the total amount of said bonds to be
,sold, to wit, $200,000.00, and directing this Board of Supervisors
!to divide said authorized issue of bonds into series and to
designate said bonds to be sold as Series D; and,
WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisots has determined, and
does hereby declare, that it is necessary and desirable that
all of said remaining bonds of said authorized issue be issued in
the name of Chico Unified School District and sold for the purposes
for which authorized:
IT 1S THEREFORE resolved and ordered that said resolution
providing for the issuance of $200,000.00 principal amount of
.1963 School Bonds of Chico City School District is incorporated
herein by reference and all of the provisions thereof are made
a part hereof and shall be applicable to the bonds of said
authorized issue herein provided for, except only as herein
otherwise expressly provided.
$200,000.00 principal amount of said bonds shall be and
constitute an additional series of said issue, to be designated
"Series D:' and issued in the name of Chico Unified School District
'on behalf of Chico City School District. Said bonds of Series D

1 shall be dated August 1, 1967, shall be 200 in number, numbered
2 consecutively from D-1 to D-200, both inclusive, of the demoni-
3 ation of $1,000.00 each, shall be payable in lawful money of
4 the ~(7nited States of America at the office of the County Treasurer
5 of said County, and shall mature in consecutive numerical order,
6 from lower to higher, as follows:
7 $5,000.00 principal amount of bonds of Series D
shall mature and be payable on August 1, in each
8 of the years 1967 to 1973, both inclusive;
9 $10,000.00 principal amount of bonds of Series D
shall mature and be payable on August 1, in each
10 of the years 1974 to 1881, both inclusive; and,
11 $15,000.00 principal amount of bonds of Series D
shall mature and be payable on August 1, in each
12 of the years 1982 to 1987, both inclusive.
13 Said bonds of Series D shall bear interest at the rate
14 of not exceeding five (5) per cent per annum, payable in like
15 lawful money at the office of the County Treasurer in one install-
16 ment, for the first year said bonds have to run, on the 1st day
17 of August, 1968, and thereafter semi-annually on the 1st days of
18 August and February of each year until said bonds are paid;
19 Said bonds of Series D shall be signed by the Chairman
20 of said Board of Supervisors, and by the Auditor of said County,
21 and shall be countersigned, and the seal of said Board placed
22 thereon, by the County Clerk of said County ox the Clerk of
23 the Board of Supervisors or by a deputy of either of such
24 officers, and the coupons of said bonds shall be signed by said
25 Auditor. A11 such signatures and counter-signatures may be
26 printed, lithographed, engraved or otherwise mechanically reprn-
27 duced, except that one of said signatures or counter-signatures
28 to said bonds shall be manually affixed. Said seal may be
29 printed, engraved, stamped or otherwise placed in facsimile on
30 said bonds. Said bonds, with said coupons attached thereto, so
31 signed and executed, shall be delivered to said County Treasurer
32 for safe keeping..

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that said bonds of Series D shall
issued substantially in the following form, to-wit:

CHTCO UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT of Butte County, State
of California, on behalf of Chico City School District of
Butte County, Promises to pay, solely out of the revenues herein-
after mentioned, to the holder hereof, at the office of the
Treasurer of said County, on the lst day of August, 19_, the
principal sum of
ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($1,000.00)
in lawful money of the United States of America, with interest
thereon in like lawful money at the rate of __~~er cent
(%) per annum, payable at the office of said Treasurer on
the 1st days of August and February of each year from the date
hereof until this bond is paid (except interest for the first
year which is payable in one installment at the end of such year).
This bond is one of a duly authorized issue of bonds
of like tenor (except for such variation, if any, as may be
required to designate varying series, numbers, denominations,
interest rates and maturities), amounting in the aggregate to
$1,900,000.00, and is authorized by a vote of more than two-thirds
of the voters voting at an election duly and legally called, held
and conducted in said Chico City School District on the 22nd
day of October, 1963, and is issued and sold by the Board of
Supervisors of Butte County, State of California, pursaunt to and
in strict conformity with the provisions of the Constitution and
laws of said State.
This bond and the interest hereon are payable only from
the revenues derived from taxes levied and collected upon the
taxable property in said Chico City School District, and
upon that property only, and said issue of.bonds (of which this
bond is one) does not constitute a general obligation or indebt-
edness of said Chico Unified School District and neither said
Chico Unified School District nor any officer thereof is holden
otherwise for the payment thereof.
And said Board of Supervisors hereby certifies and
declares that the total amount of indebtedness of said Chico City
School District'; ..including the amount. of this bond, is
within the limit provided by law, that all acts, conditions and
things required by law to be done or performed precedent to and
in the issuance of this bond have been done and performed in
struct conformity with the lames authorizing the issuance of this
bond, that this bond and the interest coupons attached thereto

are in the form prescribed by order of said Board of Supervisors
duly made and entered on its minutes and shall be payable out
of the interest and sinking fund of said Chico Unified School
District (for said Chico City School District), and the
money for the redemption of this bond and the payment of interest
thereon shah be raised by taxation upon the taxable property
of said Chico City School District.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF said Board of Supervisors has caused
this bond to be signed by its Chairman and by the Controller of
said County, and to be countersigned by the County Clerk, and
the seal of said Board to be placed hereon, the lst day of August,
1967.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that to each of said bonds of
Series D shall be attached interest coupons substantially in
the following form, to-wit.

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the money for the redemption of
said bonds and payment of interest thereon shall be raised by
taxation upon all taxable property in said Chico City School
District and provision shall be made for the levy and collection
', of such taxes in the manner provided by law.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Clerk of said Board of
Supervisors shall cause a notice of the sale of said bonds of
Series D to be published at least two weeks in the Chico Enter-
prise Record, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and
published in said County of Butte, and therein advertise for bids
for said bonds and state that said Board of Supervisors will up
to Tuesday, the 1st day of August, 1967, at 11:00 O'clock A. M.,
of said day, receive seal proposals for the purchase of said
bonds, for cash, at not less than par and accrued interest, and
that said Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids
for said bonds.
The proceeds derived from the sale of said bonds of
Series D shall be the funds of Chico Unified School District
and shall be used only for the purposes for which said bonds
(were voted.
The foregoing resolution and order was passed and
adopted by the Board of Supervisors of Butte County, State of
California, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 11th day
of July, 1967, by the following vote, to-wit:
