R E S O L U T I O N

WHE~tEAS, Sections 3500 et seq of government code• of
the State of CaL.fornia sets forth the right of public employees
to join organizations of their own choice and be represented by
such organizations in the employment relations with public
agencies; and
,WHEREAS, Butte County Employees Association is a non-.
profit California corporation composed of dues-paying Butte
County employees; and

WHEREAS, as stated in the By-laws of the Butte County
Employees Association, one dtf the purposes of the organizat ion
is to provide representation of County employees in matters
pertaining to wages, working hours, fringe benefits, grievances,
and other employee relation affairs; and
WHEREAS, more than a majority of all of Butte County-
Emplogees be long to Butte .County Employees Association; and
W~REAS, for many years, Butte County Employees
Association by and through its officers, has represented Butte
County Employees before this Board of Supervisors; and _
WHEREAS, Butte County Employees Association has .
requested recognition as employee representative in matters
involving Butte County Employees before this Board in conformity
with the above indicated Sections of the government code of the
State of California.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby resolved that the Board of
Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, do.Yiereby
recognize the Butte County Employees Association as representative
of Butte County Employees in matters of personal management and
employee-employer relations involving said employees and this Board.

•~ WHEREAS the But County Board of Supervise
and the Butte
County Employees' Association believe in a relationship of trust,
confidence, mutual understanding and respect among all county em~-
ployees, which includes department heads both appointed and electedp
and other officials of the County of Butte, including the Board of
Supervisors; and
WHEREAS the Butte County Board of Supervisors and the Butte County
Employees` Association further believe that employees of the County
of Butte through the performance of their official duties and the con--
duct of their personal lives, must bring honor to, and promote recogni-~
tion of, the integrity, economy and efficiency of county government;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOT,VED THAT in order to implement these
beliefsr each employee shall:
to During the course of his duty as a county officer or employee,
devote his full timer attention and efforts to his county
office or employment in accordance with such rules, regula-
tions and laws as pertain thereto; and
2. Strive to establish and maintain good working relationships
with fellow employees within his department as well as
between various other county departments; and
3a Endeavor to resolve all departmental problems, matters con-
cerning personnel, and public inquiries and problems through
proper administrative procedures, in a manner dignifying to all.
The Butte County Board of Supervisors and the Butte County
Employees' Association, in adopting this Resolution, further resolve
to participate in the establishment and support of appropriate procedures
to implement the intent of this Resolution.
