HomeMy WebLinkAbout67-1701 2 3 4 51 6 7 8 9 10 11 12' 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 RESOLUTION N0. b7- / 7 ~ Bf~ARD OF SUPERVISORS COUNTX OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION REQUESTING AMENDMENT TQ STATE WELFARE f~PERATI0N5 MANUAL WHEREAS, the State of California Welfare Operations Manual, section 2.20bb.1, prohibits a public hearing on appeals to the State Department of Social Welfare from actions taken by the county welfare department; and WHEREAS, the general public is vitally concerned in these matters and has a right to know of the factors and considerations manifested in said hearings in that they are paying for same; and WHEREAS, the legislature of this state has set out the procedure for these hearing's in Welfare and Institutions Code sections 10950 through 10965, and did not provide for closed hearings, NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE BUTTE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS that the State Department of Social Welfare is respectfully requested to amend State of California 'Welfare Operations Manual section 2.20bb.1 to permit the general public to have the right to attend such hearings. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Honorable Ronald Reagan, Governor of the State of California, the Honorable Spencer Williams, Administrator of the Health and Welfare Agency, the Honorable John C. Montgomery, Director of the Department of Social 'Welfare, the Honorable Fred W, Marler, Jr., Senator of the State of California, the Honorable Ray E. Johnson, Assemblyman of the State of California, and to all such interested parties as the board may designate.
