BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
1 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING AGRICULTURAL PRESERVES

3 WHEREAS, the preservation of a maximum amount of the limited
¢ supply of agricultural land is necessary to the conservation of
~ the state's economic resources; and is necessary not only to the
g maintenance of the agricultural economy of the county, but also
q for the assurance of adequate, healthful and nutritious food for
g future residents of this state and nation; and
g W1?EREAS, the discouragement of premature and unnecessary
i0 conversion of agricultural land to urban uses is a matter of
ll public interest and will be of benefit to urban dwellers themselves
12 in that it will discourage discontiguous urban development pattern_
13 which unnecessarily increase the costs of community services to
l4 community residents; and
15 WHEREAS, for these reasons, this resolution is necessary
I6 for the promotion of the general welfare and the protection of
lq the public interest in agricultural land; and
lg WHEREAS, the County of Butte is authorized to establish
lg agricultural preserves pursuant to the California Land Conservation
2p Act of 1965; and
21 WHEREAS, the procedural requirements to establish the
2g agricultural preserves as required by the Act have been followed;
23 and
24 WHHR EAS, the land to be included within the Agricultural
2B Preserves is used for the purpose of producing agricultural
26 commodities for commercial purposes and compatible uses; and
2q WHEREAS; uniform rules shall be established by resolution
2g for each of the Preserves,
2g NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RE50LVED that the following real
30 property located in the County of Butte, State of California,
31 and more particularly described as follows:

All that area delineated on that certain map
attached. hereto as Exhibit "A", and which is
incorporated herein by reference as if set forth
in full
are hereby designated and established as Agricultural Preserves,
number 1-10 as delineated on Exhibit "A" within the meaning of
and pursuant to the Lana Conservation Act of 1965, and shall be
known as and may be referred to as Agricultural Preserve Nos.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, $, 9, and 10.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Butte, State of California, this 5th day of December
1967, by the following vote:
AYES; Supervisors Dunaway, McRillop and Chairman Howsden
