HomeMy WebLinkAbout67-179RESOLUTION N0. 67-179 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS 1 COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA 2 RESOLUTION IN MEMORY OF EMIL G. STETNEGGER 3 WHEREAS, EMIL G. STEINEGGER died on the 20th day of ~ November, 1967; and 6 WHEREAS, EMIL G. STEINEGGER had been a Supervisor of the g County of But te, having been elected in 1960, and having served 7 as Chairman of said Board of Supervisors in the year 1963; and 8 WHEREAS, EMIL G. STEINEGGER served four years as a g director of the Northern California Supervisors Association and lp a member of the association executive board; and 11 WHEREAS, in addition to said official public service to 12 the county and to the state, EMIL G. STEINEGGER actively parti- 13 cipated during his lifetime in the affairs of his countr,~ and his 14 community, being a member of the Paradise Recreation Board in 1953 15 and chairman of said board in 1954, chairman of the Citizens lg Committee For Construction of Paradise Dam and Reservoir, foreman 17 of the 1958-59 Butte County Grand .Tury, member of Butte County lg Probation Committee in 1959, member and Vice-President of the 19 Board of Directors of the Butte County Tuberculosis and Health 20 Association, assisted in organization of Paradise Senior Citizens 21 Association, and served as supervisor for construction of Craig 22 Memorial Congregational Church Parsonage; and 23 WHEREAS, EMIL G. STEINEGGER was a member and past master 24 of Redwood City Lodge No. 168, F & AM, a member of Table Mountain 25 Lodge, F & AM, Paradise, a member of Royal Arch and Commandery in 26 Oroville, and a member of the Ben Ali Shrine. He was also a 27 member and past patron of Paradise Chapter No. 549, Order of 28 Eastern Star, a member of the Paradise Chamber of Commerce, past 29 trustee and member of Paradise Elks Lodge No. 2026, an associate 30 member of the California State Republican Central Committee, and 31 a member of the Butte County Republican Central Committee, 32 11 2 3 4 b 6 7, 8' 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 23 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, as follows: 1. That said board hereby expresses its appreciation for the outstanding services rendered by EMIL G. STEINEGGER to the County of Butte as a member and chairman of said board, and for his leadership in the County of Butte and the community in which he lived, both as a supervisor and as a citizen. 2. That the condolences of this board be extended to the members of the family of EMIL G. STEINEGGER, and that the clerk of this board forward a certified copy of this resolution to MABEL STEINEGGER, his surviving spouse, and to his son, ROBERT A. STEINEGGER, and his daughter, MRS. RUSSELL MARTINSON. 3. That the regular meeting of this board, held on this 5th day of December, 1967, be adjourned in memory of EMIL G. STEINEGGER.
