HomeMy WebLinkAbout67-183~,; ~~ RESOLUTION N0. 67-1 ~ 3 BOARD OF SUPERVTSORS 1 COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA 2 RESOLUTION FOR APPOINTMENT OF COMMITTEE TO STUDY INTRA-COUNTY TRAVEL 3 4 WHEREAS, the travel of county employees inside the county 5 amounts to a substantial expenditure of funds; and g WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors deems it 7 desirable to have a-study of intra-county travel by county 8 employees; and g WHEREAS, intra-county travel is done both in county-owned 10 and privately owned passenger cars; and 11 WHEREAS, inside county travel in county-owned cars varies 12 from department to department; and 13 WHEREAS, it would be desirable for an independent study of 14 travel conditions, 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS 16 OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE that a committee of five (5) citizens of 17 Butte County shall be appointed to make a study of intra-county 18 travel of county employees, both in county-owned and private- 19 owned vehicles, and that each member of this board shall appoint 20 one (1) member to said committee. 21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the scope of the study committee 22 shall include the following consideration, but not be limited to: 23 1. County-owned passenger vehicles. 24 (a) County department to which. vehicle is assigned; 2g (b) Functions and duty of employee using county-owned 28 vehicle; 27 (c} Base location of county-owned vehicle; 28 (d) Use of county-owned vehicle outside of regular 29 working hours; 30 (e) Where vehicle is garaged or parked at night when 31 not on county .premises; 32 (f) Function which requires `home-to-work" use and 1 2 3 4 5 B 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 2B 27 28 29 30 31 32 mileage to which the vehicle is subjected for such travel; and (g) Total mileage county cars travel per month inside the county, and other considerations involved in the use of county vehicles within the county. 2. Privately owned passenger vehicles: (a) Mileage traveled per month by county department inside county in privately owned passenger vehicles; (b) Function of employees using privately owned passen- ger vehicles for inside county travel; and (c} Does the reimbursement for mileage adequately reimburse the owner for privately owned vehicles for county use. 3. Study of the feasibility of establishing a central car pool of all county vehicles as a substitute for use of privately owned vehicles, or any combination of pooling or use of private vehicles, together with any further and other recommendations the committee might deem applicable in the scope of the study.
