BOARD OF SUPERVTSORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION ORDERING CONSOLIDATIOI~T OF A SPECIAL
BOND ELECTION TO BE HELD IN GRIDLEY UNTON
SCHOOL DISTRICT OF BUTTE COUNTY WITH THE DIRECT
PRIMARY ELECTION TO BE HELD JUNE 4, 1968
WHEREAS, the Governing Board of Gridley Union School
District (hereinafter called the "District") has called, and
proposed to pass a resolution ordering and providing for, a bond
election to be held in the District June 4, 1968, and has requeste
the Board of Supervisors of Butte County, to order a consolidation
of said special bond election with the Direct Primary Election
to be held in Butte County and throughout the State of California,
on Tuesday, June 4, 1968, and has further authorized this Board
of Supervisors to canvass or cause to be canvassed the returns
of said special bond election from the territory affected by said
consolidation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the. Board of Supervisors
of Butte County as follows:
1. The special bond election to be held in Gridley Union
School District on Tuesday, June 4, 1968, at which election
there shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the
District the two measures and each of them of incurring a bonded
indebtedness of the District for the purposes set forth in the
following measures, to wit:

GRIDLEY UNION SCHOOL DISTRICT
BOND MEASURE
Shall the Gridley Union School District of
Butte County incur a bonded indebtedness of Six
Hundred Eighty Thousand Dollars ($680.,000) to
bear interest at the rate of not to exceed 5%
per annum for the purpose of raising money for
the following purposes (which are hereby united
and shall be voted upon as one single proposit-
ion), to wit:
(a) The building or purchasing of school
buildings.
(b) The making of alterations or additions
to the school building or buildings
other than such as may be necessary
for current maintenance, operation,
or repairs.
(c) The repairing, restoring, or rebuild-
ing of any school building damaged,
injured or destroyed by fire or other
public calamity.
(d) The supplying of school buildings and
grounds with furniture, equipment or
necessary apparatus of a permanent
nature.
(e) The permanent improvement of the school
grounds.
(f) The carrying out of the projects or
purposes authorized in Section 15811
of the Education Code; to wit:
Providing sewers and drains adequate
to treat and/or dispose of sewage
and drainage on or away from each
school property.
(g) The demolition or razing of any school
building with the intent to replace it
with another school building, whether
in the same location or in any other
location.

of California, on Tuesday, June 4, 1968, and this Board hereby
borders said consolidation.
2. The returns of said special bond election from
said territory affected by said consolidation shall be canvassed
or caused to be canvassed by the Boar,d.of Supervisors of Butte

1 County in accordance with the request of the Governing Board
2 of the District and said consolidated special election and
3 Direct Primary Election shall be held within said territory affecte
~ by said consolidation in all respects as though there were only
5 one election. Said measu~ and each of them of incurring bonded
g indebtedness shall be set forth in each ballot to be used at said
ry Direct Primary Election insofar as the same is held within said
g territory affected by said consolidation. The returns of said
g special bond election in said territory, when canvassed, shall be
lp reported by this Board of Supervisors to the Governing Board of
11 the District.
12 3. The County Clerk of said County is hereby ordered
13 and directed to provide within said territory affected by said
14 consolidation the election precincts, polling places and voting
15 booths for each of said elections hereby consolidated, which in
16 each case shall be the same, and there shall be only ore set of
17 election officers in each of said precincts. Said County Clerk
lg is further ordered and directed to print upon each of the ballots
19 to be used at said Direct Primary Election within said territory
20 affected by said consolidation said District Bond Measures and
21 each of them set forth in Section 1 of this resolution. Said
22 County Clerk is further ordered and directed (I) to set forth
23 on all sample ballots relating to said Direct Primary Election and
24 to be mailed to the qualified electors of the District within said
2g territory affected by said consolidation said District Bond Measure
26 and each of them, and to mail to said qualified electors of the
try District in said territory said sample ballots and also polling
28 place cards signed by said County Clerk relating to said elections ~I
2g in the time and in the form required by law, and (II) to provide

31 special born election hereby consolidated therewith for use by the

by said consolidation who may be entitled to such absent vo-ter
ballots in the manner provided by law. The County Clerk is further
authorized to charge to the District the additional expense of
printing upon the sample and official ballots for use in said
territory said District Bond Measures and each of them to be
submitted to the qualified electors of the District, and such
other incidental exper~es as may be incurred solely by reason of
this order of consolidatio n.
4. Certified copies of this resolution shall be forwarded by
the County Clerk to the Governing Board of the District.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Butte, State of California, this 27th day of February, 1968, by
the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Duna*aay, Howsden, McKillop, Pryde and Chairman Maxon

RESOLUTION NO. 3--1967-68
RESOLUTION OF THE GOVERNING BOARD OF GRIDLEY UNION
SCHOOL DISTRICT REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF BUTTE COUNTY TO PROVIDE FOR CONSOLIDATION OF A
SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT BOND ELECTION WITH THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA DIRECT PRIMARY ELECTION TO BE HELD
JUNE 4, 1968
WHEREAS, the Governing Board of Gridley Union School
District has heretofore duly passed a resolution calling a special
school district bond election in said district, at which will be
submitted to the qualified electors of said district a measure
for incurring bonded indebtedness of said district in the amount
and for the purposes hereinafter set forth; and,
WHEREAS, the State of California Direct Primary
Election will be held in Butte County and throughout the State
of California, on June 4, 1968, and it is the desire of said ~=-a:
Governing Board that said special school district bond election
be consolidated with said Direct Primary Election;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Board
of Gridley Union School District, as follows:
Section 1. A special school district bond election
is hereby called and the same shall be held in Gridley Union
School District on Tuesday, June 4, 1968, at which election shall
be submitted to the qualified electors of said district for the
following measure, to wit:

Section 2. The Board of Supervisors of Butte County is hereby
requested to consent to and the County Superintendent of Schools of Butte
County is hereby requested to order the consolidation of said school district
bond election with the Direct Primary Election to be held on Tuesday, June 4,

said Board of Supervisors is further requested to
provide that within the territory affected by said order of con-
solidation the election precincts, polling places and voting
booths shall, in every case, be the same and there shall be
only one set of election off icers in each of the precincts for
both of said elections and that said measure of incurring bonded
indebtedness shall be set forth in each form of ballot to be
used at said Direct Primary Election insofar as the same is held
within said territory affected by said consolidation.
Section 3. Said Board of Supervisors is further
requested to cause to be printed upon each of the ballots to be
used at said consolidated school district bond election and
Direct Primary Election, within said territory affected by said
consolidation, including absent voter 'ballots, said Bond Measure
in the form thereof set forth in Section 1 of this resolution.

County Clerk of said County (1) to set forth on all sample
ballots relating to said Direct Primary Election and to be mailed
to the qualified electoxs of said district in said territory
affected by said consolidation said Bond Measure set forth in
this resolution, and to mail to said qualified electors of-said
district in said territory said sample ballots and also polling
place cards signed by such County Clerk relating to said special-
school district bond election in the time and in the form
required by law, and (II) to provide absent voter ballots for ~i
said Direct Primary Election and said special school district ~

bond election consolidated therewith for use by qualified
electors of said district in said territory affected by said
consolidation who may be entitled thereto, in the manner pro-
vided by law. ~~
Section 4. Said Board of Supervisors is hereby
further authorized to canvass or cause to be canvassed the return!;

of said special school district bond election with respect to the
votes cast on said Bond Measure in said territory affected .by
said consolidation, and to certify such canvass of the votes
cast for and against said Bond Measure to this Governing Board.
Section 5. The Clerk of this Governing Board is
hereby authorized and directed to certify to the due adoption
of this resolution and to transmit a copy thereof so certified
to the County Clerk of Butte County and to the .Board of
Supervisors of said County and to the County Superintendent of
Schools.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of February, 1968,
by the following vote:
AYES: FTilbur F. Mills, Robert L_ Fife, Larry L_ Sweringen,
A.R.M. Sears, Paul D. Kimmelshue.
NOES: None
ABSENT: None

by said Board at a legal meeting duly held on the 20th day of
