Gp~,GLv-J RESOLUTION NOe 6s-33 yn`~~z~-~'`~- ; ~~ /„~ d ~~ BOARD OF SUPERVISORS G~~~j.GO f ~ `"~ 1 21 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 23 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION REQUESTING AMENDMENT TO GOVERNMENT CODE SECTTON 28126 WHEREAS, the Butte County Grand Jury for 1967 has reported on the need for increases in salaries for the sup3rvisars, (district atto rney and auditor of the County of Butte; and WHEREAS, said resolution has been forwarded to the Honor- able Fred Marler, Senator representing Butte County, and the Honorable Ray Johnson, Assemblyman representing Butte County; and WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors has considered the recommendations and resolution for the amendment to Government Code Section 28126, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE that the amendment to the Government Code Section 28126, as recommended by the 1967 Grand Jury of the County of Butte, be, and the same is hereby approved. Section 28126 of the Government Code should be amended as follows: "In a county of the 26th class the officers shall receive as compensation for the services required of them by law or by virtue of their offices the salaries and fees fixed pursuant to the charter of the county, except that the following shall receive as compensation for such services the following sums: (a) The auditor, Twelve Thousand ($12,000) Dollars a year. (b) The District Attorney, Eighteen Thousand Five Hundred ($18,500) Dollars a year. He shall not engage in private practice of law and shall devote all his time and attention during business hours to the duties of his office. (c) Each supervisors, Seven Thousand Two Hundred ($7,200) Dollars a year for all services performed by him as supervisor, member of Board of Equalization, or in any other capacity, and each supervisor shall be provided 1 2 3 4, 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 2B 27 28 29 30 31 32 transportation for all his official duties, or shall receive mileage at the rateof ten cents ($0.10) for each mile actually traveled within the county in the performance of his official duties, or in going to or from any meeting of said board when traveling by auto - mobile, and all actual and necessary traveling expenses when traveling on county business outside the county. (d) Grand jurors in the su~ior court shall ~~ receive Ten ($10) Dollars for each day's attendance and I I ten ($0.10) cents for each mile actually traveled in 'i attending court as such jurors. Such per diem and mileage allowance shall be paid to grand jurors for attendance at meetings of committees appointed by the Foreman of the Grand Jury and to grand jurors making individual investigations ', when such investigations are authorized in writing by the ~~, foreman. Trial jurors in the superior court shall receive Five Dollars ($5) for the first day's attendance at court and Seven Dollars ($7) for each succeeding day's attendance, ', together with fifteen cents ($0.15) for each mile traveled in attending court as such jurors, one way only." BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of this board forward a copy of this resolution to the Honorable Fred Marler, Senator representing Butte County, and the Honorable Ray Johnson, Assembly- may representing Butte County.
