RESOLUTION N0. 68-~
BOARD OF SUPF~2VISORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION OPPOSING ASSEMBLY BILL N0. 1318
WHRREAS, there has been introduced into the 1968 Legislature
I Assembly Bill No. 1318; and
WF:rR?;AS, this bill. places the burden upon the public entity,
c
which amounts to a discrimination against public entities by re-
quiring payment of attorneysf ees in a variety of actions; and
WHBRk'AS, this is a direct burden upon the taxpayer of the
', county; and
WH~'REAS, such a law would result in increasing the number
of suits which would go to trial and place an undue and unnecessary
burden on the courts of each county,
NOW, THEREFORE, BF IT RRSOLVFD by the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Butte that by these presents they do hereby oppose
passage of Assembly Bill No. 1318.
B:~ IT FURTHrR Rf:SOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
forwarded to the Honorable Fred Marler, Senator of the State of
California, the Honorable Ray Johnson, Assemblyman of the State of
California, and such other interested parties as this board may
designate.
PASSED AND ADOPT~'D this 14th day of May, 1968, by the
following vote:
