BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF ASSEMBLY BILL N0. 149
WHEREAS, immediate and continuing property tax reduction
is a necessity for the taxpayers of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, Assembly Bi11 No. 149 will make available at least
$155 million of property tax reduction in California every year
by allocating to the counties the proceeds of almost one-half cent
in the state sales tax; and
WHEREAS, every dollar every county receives under Assembly
Ei11 No. 149 will be required by law to be deposited in the
county's property tax reduction fund and used only for the purpose
of reducing property taxes, and will not be used for other purpose
s~u~ch as expanded county services; and
WHEREAS, every property tax bill in California will show the
actual amount of property tax reduction provided by Assembly Bi11
A1o. 149 to that particular property owner, and in addition, will
show the reduction in county tax rate provided by Assembly Bill No
149; and
WH~~REAS, every property taxpayer in California, without
exception, will receive his equitable share of the property tax
reduction funds; and
WHEREAS, current personal property tax on household
furniture will be abolished,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE 2T RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, that by these presents they do endorse
Assembly Bill No. 149, and urge its passage in support from all
legislators.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
forwarded to the Honorable Ronald Reagan, Governor of the State
of California, the Honorable Ray Johnson, Assemblyman of the State
of California, the Honorable Fred Marler, Senator of the State of
California, and to such other and further interested parties as

the board may direct.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California, this 14th. day of May, 1968,
by the following vote:
