COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION IN MEMORY OF ROBERT J. AIKENS
WHEREAS, Robert J. Aikens was Director of the Fast Kern
County Water Agency; and
WH~EAS, Robert J. Aikens was one of the original directors
and leaders in the Feather River Project Association, and had been
active in the association through the years during which the
Oroville Dam Project was promoted; and
WHF`REAS, Robert J. Aikens was active in the California
~~
', Water Plan, and continued to be active when the association became
'~ the California Water Resources Association; and
Wi~.~;RrAS, Robert J. Aikens was Chairman of the original trait
to Oroville in 1958 when the first earth was turned for the Oro-
vi11e Dam Project, and the special excursion train to Oroville for
the Oroville Dam Celebration on May 4, 1968, was a repeat of that
venture; and
!~ WHEREAS, Robert J. Aikens had a heart attack and died aboarc
that special train,
NOW, TH~EFORF, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors
i, of the County of Butte, State of California, as follows:
1. That said board hereby memorializes its appreciation of
the meritorious services rendered to the County of Butte and the
I~, State of California by Robert J. Aikens during his lifetime.
2. That the condolences of this board be extended to the
wife of Robert J. Aikens, and that the clerk of this board fo rward
a certi ied copy of this resolution to his wife, a copy to Henry D.
Greene, Rxecutive Director of the Cal nia Water Resources
Association, and to the Board of Directors of the East Kern County
Water Agency.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of May, 1968, by the
