BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STAT:E`OF CALIFORNIA
1 RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO APPROVE: AN AMENDMENT TO
CONTRACT BE'TWEE'N THE' BOARD OF ADMINISTRATTON OF THE
2 PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTRM AND THE BOARD
OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE

4 WH~:RFAS, the Public Employees' Retirement Law permits the
5 participating of public agencies and their employees in the Public
6 Employees' Retirement System by the execution of a contract, and
7 sets forth the procedure by which said public agencies may elect
8 to subject themselves and their employees to amendments to said
9 law; and
10 WH~;REAS, one of the steps in the procedure to amend this
11 contract is the adoption by the legislative body of the public
12 agency of a resolution giving notice of its intention to approve
13 an amendment to said contract, which resolution shall contain a
14 summary of the changes proposed in said contract; and
15 C~IHRREAS, the following is a statement of the proposed
16 change:
17 1. Retirement allowances payable for time commencing on
lg the first day of the calendar month coinciding with or
19 next following the effective date of this amendment to
20 or on account of any person whose retirement became
21 effective on or prior to December 31, 1966 are hereby
22 increased according to a sliding scale ranging from two
23 percent for those whose retirement became effective
24 during the twelve months ending December 31, 1966, to
25 a maximum of twelve percent for those whose retirement
26 became effective prior to January 1, 1962.
27 NOW, THF,REFORE, BE IT RESOLVER that the BOARD OF SUPER-
28 VISORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE gives, and it hereby gives notice
29 of intention to approve an amendment to the contract between the
30 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS and the Board of Administration of the Public
31 Employees' Retirement System, a copy of said amendment being
32 attached hereto, marked "F;xhibit A", and by this reference made

a part hereof.
