HomeMy WebLinkAbout68-141RESOLUTION N0. 68- / i~/ BOARD OF SUPERVISORS 1 COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA 2 RESOLUTION ORDERING CONSOLIDATION OF A SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT MAXIMUM TAX RATE ELECTION TO BE HELD IN 3 PARADISE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT OF BUTTE COUN'T'Y WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ~ NOV~"SBER 5, 1968. S WHEREAS, the Governing Board of Paradise Unified School g District, hereinafter called the "District", has called, and q proposed to pass a resolution ordering and providing for, a g special school district maximum tax rate election to be held g in the District November 5, 1968, and has requested the Board ~,p of Supervisors of Butte County, to order a consolidation of said 11 special school district maximum tax rate election with the State 12 of California General Election to be held N vember 5, 1968, and I3; has further authorized this board of supervisors to canvass, or 14 cause to be canvassed, the returns of said special school district Z5 maximum tax rate election from the territory affected by said Zg consolidation, 17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors lg of Butte County as follows: 19 1. The special school district maximum tax rate election 20 to be held in Paradise Unified School District on November 5, 1968, 21 at which election there shall be submitted to the qualified elect- 22 ors of the District the measure set forth as follows, to wit: 23 PARADISE UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT MAXIMUM TAX RATE MEASURE 24 S al t e existing maximum tax rate o be continued in the Paradise Unified School District YES: 2g for the school years 1969-70 to 1971-72, inclusive, the revenues of which are to be used to secure the 26 funds necessary to maintain the present educational program, including curriculum, instruction, supplies, 2~ and salaries of personnel; to maintain and operate school transportation; and such other purposes for NO 2g which general funds money may be expended 29 30 ,.., 31 32 1 be, and the same is hereby consolidated with the General Election 2. to be held in Butte County, and throughout the State of California, 3 on Tuesday, November 5, 1968, and this board hereby orders said ¢ consolidation. 6 2. The returns of said special school district maximum. tax g rate election from said territory affected by said consolidation q shall be canvassed, or caused to be canvassed, by the Board of g Supervisors of Butte County in accordance with the request of the g Governing Board of the District, and said consolidated special 10 election and the General Election shall be held within said terri- 11 Cory affected by said consolidation in all respects as though there 12 were only one election. Said measure of maximum tax rate shall be 13 set forth in each ballot to be used at said General Election inso- 1~ far as the same is held within said territory affected by said 15 consolidation. The returns of said special maximum tax rate 16 alection in said territory, when canvassed, shall be reported by 17 this Board of Supervisors to the Governing Board of the District. 18. 3. The County Clerk of said county is hereby ordered and 19 directed to provide within said territory affected by said consoli- 20 datian the election precincts, polling places, and voting booths 2I for each of said elections hereby consolidated, which in each case 22 shall be the same, and there shall be only one set of election 23 officers in each of said precincts. Said County Clerk is further 24 ordered and directed ~l) to set forth on all sample ballots 2g relating to said General Election and to be mailed to the qualified 26 electors of the District within said territory affected by said 2q consolidation said maximum tax rate measure, and to mail to said 2g qualified electors of tt~e District in said territory said sample 29 ballot and also polling place cards signed by said County Cler~.c 30 relating to said elections in the time and in the form required by 31 law; and X11) to provide absent voter ballots for said General 32 Election and said special school district maximum tax election 2. i 1 hereby consolidated therewith for use by the qualified electors of 2 the District within said territory affected by said consolidation 3 who may be entitled to such absent voter ballots in the manner ~ provided by law.
