HomeMy WebLinkAbout68-1911 2. 3 4 s 6 7 8 9 10 I1 12 13 I4 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 ~ 23 ~ 24 25 28 27 28 29 30 31 32 RESOLUTION N0. 6$-191 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF LOCAL CONTROL OF FEDERAL GRANTS WHEREAS, the citizens of this County have the right to expect that publicly supported programs will be administered in a manner to best serve the interests of all concerned; and WHEREAS, the continued public support of federal programs administration of said programs; and WHEREAS, The Board of Supervisors is charged with the responsibility of administering programs and expenditures in compliance with federal and state regulations; and WHEREAS, the aforesaid restrictions under the guise of regulation make efficient exercise of administration by local county officials difficult, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California ~ follows: That this board does recommend to the President Elect Richard M. Nixon, and his administration that federal regulations be amended and modified to permit the exercise of the greatest amount of local control and administration in all of the areas of federal programs which are put into effect at state and local levels. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this board favors immediate adoption of federal and state regulations which will permit. the counties to achieve a level of responsibility and enable the handling of fiscal affairs at the local level with the minimum of restraint and a maximum of discretion in said expenditures. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be forwarded to President Elect Richard N1. Nixon, Honorable Ronald Reagan, Governor of the State of Califo rnia, Senator Murphy and Cranston, Congressman Johnson,.
