ROADS IN THE OROVILLE AREA OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE,

5 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF
g CALIFORNIA, do ordain as follows:
7 1. That said Board determines upon the basis of an engineer-
8 ing and traffic survey that the limit of sixty-five (65) miles per
9 hour is more than is reasonable or safe upon those County Roads
10 and portions of County Roads hereinafter named and designated, and
li that said Board by this Ordinance determines and declares a prima
12 facie speed limit on said County Roads or portions thereof as here-
13 inafter set forth.
14 2. That a prima facie speed limit of twenty-five (25) miles
15 .per hour is hereby determined, declared and established within the
18 following limits upon the hereinafter described County Highways, to
17 wit;
18 On V-4 Road, front Walmer Road to Lower Wyandotte,
On V-3 Road, from Palermo Road to Lower Wyandotte,
19 On all of Farley Street,
On all of Walmer Road,
20 On Virginia Avenue, from Palermo Road to
Grove Street,
21 On Mill Street, from Palermo Road to
Virginia Avenue,
22 On all of Grove Street,
On Wyandotte Avenue, from Lincoln Street
23 to Central Drive,
On all of Pearl Street,
24 On all of Barnes Way
On all of A Street,
25 On all of B Street,
On all of C Street,
26 On all of D Street,
On all of Elgin Street,
27 On all of Ft. Wayne Street,
On all of Greenville Street,
28 On Iiouston Street, from Lincoln Street to
Oro-Bangor High'i£ray,
29 On all of Tdora Street,
On all of Jefferson Street,
30 On all of Marion Street,
on all of Ithaca Street,

8 That SPEED LIMIT 25 MILES signs be placed at appropriate 10-
9 cations on the Roads described in this Section 2.
10 3. That a prima facie speed limit of Thirty (30) miles per
11 hour is hereby determined, declared and established within the fol-
12 lowing limits upon the hereinafter described County Highways, to
13 wit:
14 On Palermo Road, from ~Tefferson Street
to Clinton Avenue,
15 On Baggett Marysville Road, from Palermo
Road to the westerly line of the Western
16 Pacific Railroad right-of-way.
17 That SPEED LIMIT 30 MILES signs be placed at appropriate lo-
18 cations on the Roads described in this Section 3.
19 4. That a prima facie speed limit of thirty-five (35) miles
20 per hour is hereby determined, declared and established within the
21 following limits upon the hereinafter described County Highways, to
wit:

On Olive Highway, from a point 300 feet westerly
23 of the centerline of Oroville-Quincy Highway
to the easterly right-of-way line of

On Olive Highway, from Oroville City Limits to
25 a point 300 feet easterly of the centerline
of Central Drive,
26 On Palermo Honcut Highway, from Upper Palermo
Road to Palermo Road,
27 On Palermo Road, from 1000 feet northerly of
the centerline of Messina Avenue to Palermo::.
28 F3oncut Highway,
On Palermo Road, from Wise Avenue to Occidental
29 Avenue,
30 On Lower Wyandotte, from Central Drive to
Claremont Drive,
31 On Oro-Bangor Highway, from T3ouston Street
to Foothill Boulevard,
32 On Central Drive, from Olive Highway to
Lower Wyandotte.

1 That SPEED LIMIT 35 MILES signs be placed at appropriate 10-
2 cations on the Roads described in this Section 4.
3 5:.:'.That a prima facie speed limit of forty (40) miles per
4 hour is hereby determined, declared and established within the
5 following limits upon the hereinafter described County Highway, to
6 wit:
7 On Palermo-Honcut Highway, from Gibralter
Avenue to South Villa Avenue,
$ On Upper Palermo Road, from Lower Wyandotte
to Palermo Honcut Highway,
9 On Garden Ranch Road, fxom Lower Wyandotte
to Foothill. Blvd.,
10 On Lower Wyandotte, from Claremont Drive to
Foothill Blvd.,
11 On Mt. Ida Road, from Foothill Blvd. to
Skyline Blvd.,
12 On Foothill Blvd., from Oroville-Quincy
Highway to Olive Highway.

14 That SPEED LIMIT 40 MILES signs be placed at appropriate lo-
15 cations on the Roads described in this Section 5.
16 6. That a prima facie speed limit of forty-five (45) miles
17 per hour is .hereby determined, declared and established within the
18 following limits upon the hereinafter described County Highways, to
19 wit:
20 On Olive Highway, from a point .300 feet
easterly of the centerline of Central
21 Drive to a point 300 feet westerly of
the centerline of Oroville-Quincy Highway,
22 On ~'oothille Blvd., from Olive Highway to
Honcut Wyandotte Road.

24 That SPEED LIMIT 45 MILES signs be placed at appropriate lo-
25 cations at the Roads described in this Section 6.
26 7. That a prima facie speed limit of fifty (50) miles per
27 hour is hereby determined, declared and established within the fo1-
28 lowing limits upon the hereinafter described County Highways, to
29 wit:
30 On Olive Highway, from the easterly right-of-
way line Hillcrest Avenue to Apica Avenue.

2 8. That a prima facie speed limit of fifty-five (55) miles
3 per hour is hereby determined, declared and established within. the
'~4 following limits upon the hereinafter described County Highways, to
5 wit:
8 pn Baggett Marysville Road, from the westerly
line of the Western Pacific Railroad right-
? of-way to State Highway 40A,
On Palermo Road, from V-3 Road to a point 1000
8 feet northerly of the centerline of Messina
Avenue.

10 That SPEED LIMIT 55 MILES signs be placed at appropriate lo-
Z1 cations on the Roads described in this Section 8.
12 This Ordinance shall be and it is hereby declared to be in
13 full force and effect from and after thirty (30) days after the
14 date of its passage., providing appropriate signs giving notice
15 thereof are erected upon the County Fighways and portions thereof
16 herein designated, and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days
17 after its passage, this Ordinance shall be published once with the
18 names of the Board members voting for and against it in
19 fJmoville Pruss , a newspaper of general circulation printed
20 and published in the County of Butte, State of California.
21 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the BOARD OF SUPERVISORS of the County
22 of Butte, State of California, this 2bth day of September, 1960,
23 by the following vote:
24 AYES: Supervisors Alldredge, Huggins, McKerna.n and Chairman Pryde
25 NOES: None
26 ABSENT: Supervisor Giles ?
