BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION IN APPRECIATION OF PUBLIC SERVICES RENDERED
TO THE COUNTY OF BUTTE BY LESLIE J. PRYDE
WHEREAS, LESLIE J. PRYDE was first appointed to the Butte
County Board of Supervisors in January, 1958, and was re-elected
thereto twice; and
WHEREAS, LESLIE J, PRYDE has most ably represented citizens
of the County of Butte; and
WHEREAS, the services to the County of LESLIE J. PRYDE have
been outstanding and exemplary during the ten years in which the
County has had the privilege of his faithful service; and
WHEREAS, prior to his appointment as 'Supervisor, LESLIE J.
PRYDE also served with distinction as a member of the Butte County
Planning Commission, and also as a member of the Gridley Bchool
Board; and
WHEREAS, LESLIE J. PRYDE was President of Northern Calif-
ornia County 'Supervisors Association, Chairman of that associat-
ion's Health, Welfare and Hospital Committee, and has been awarded
an honorary life membership in that organiz anon; and
WHEREAS, LESLIE J. PRYDE was a valued member of the County
Supervisors Association of California, Chairman of the Associat-
ion's Welfare Committee, Chairman of the Association's Data
Processing Committee, a member of the State Department of Social
Welfare Merit System Advisory Committee, General Chairman of the
Health and Welfare Committee of the County Supervisors Association
of California, and has given unstintingly of his time to state-wide
affairs of county government, and has been an important aid in
developing the state-wide policies affecting California county
government. He has also been active within the Plational Associat-
ion of Counties in the field of welfare policy development; and
'~ WHEREAS, LESLIE J. PRYDE chose not to seek re-election as
,Butte County Supervisor of District No. 4; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte
has ordered this Resolution in appreciation of LESLIE J. PRYDE'S
outstanding services to the people of the County of Butte,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Board of
Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, as
follows, to wit:
1. That LESLIE J. PRYDE has rendered valuable and faithful
services to the County of Butte during his ten years as Supervisor
2. That LESLIE J. PRYDE has brought credit and recognition
to the County of Butte through his exemplary devotion to duty.
3. That this board wishes to express its sincere
appreciation on its otinz behalf, as well as on behalf of the
citizens of Butte County, to LESLIE J. PRYDE, for his outstanding
public service as a Supervisor, as a Planning Commissioner, and
as a trustee on the Gridley School Board.
4. That the Clerk of this Board is authorized to certify
and deliver to LESLIE J. PRYDE a copy of this Resolution as a
testimonial of the sentiments of the Board of Supervisors of
the County of Butte.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California, this 7th day of January,
1969, by the following vote:
