HomeMy WebLinkAbout69-0351 2 3 4 6 6 7 8 9 10 ii 12 13 14: 15 18 17 18 19 2d 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 RESOLUTION NO. b~-35 BOARD OF SUPERVISORS COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION ENDORSING SENATE BILL N0.4 WHEREAS, the problem has existed since the recent Supreme Court decisions with regards to pre-emption by state law over local ordinances; and WHEREAS, this board believes that the matter of pre-emption should be cleared by statute; and WHEREAS, this board further believes that as much local control as is feasible should be given to local agencies and counties; and WHEREAS, Senate Bill No. 4 would clearly establish when state pre-emption should apply, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California as follows: 1. That this board strongly supports Senate Bi11 No. 4, and respectfully commends its passage by the legislature; and 2. That a copy of this resolution be sent to the Honorable Ronald Reagan, Governor of the State of California, the Honorable Ray Johnson, Assemblyman, and the Honorable Fred Marley, Senator of the State of California, the County Supervisors Associatian of California, and to the Northern California Supervisors Associatio and to all such other interested parties.
