BOARD OF SUPERVTSORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION IN OPPOSITION TO CONSTRUCTION BY COUNTY
SUPERVISORS ASSOCIATION OF CALIFORNIA OF A "COUNTY
GOVERNi'~NT CENTER" IN DOWNTOWN SACRAMENTO
WHEREAS, this board has reviewed the County Supervisors
Association of California's Board of Director's minutes of
January 2nd and January 3rd, 1969, Item No. 7; and
WHEREAS, Item No. 7 makes reference to the construction
by County Supervisors Association of California of a ''County
Government Center in downtown Sacramento"; and
WHEREAS, such construction would possibly pose an undue
burden upon the finances of such association and could compel an
additional burden upon all the counties and their respective tax-
payers of this state, in paying for such a center,,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Butte, State of California, as follows:
1. That this board opposes spending County Supervisors
Association of California funds to build a County Government Cente
in downtown Sacramento, until it satisfactorily proves to this
Board that such a project will not add to the already heavy burden
of our taxpayers.
2. That a copy of this resolution be sent to the County
Supervisors Association of California, and to each member county
of the County Supervisors Association of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the Conant
of Butte, State of California, this 4th day of March, 1969, by
the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dunaway, Howsden, Maxon and Reynolds
NOES: Chairman McKillop
ABSENT: None ~ ~
