COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION IN OPPOSITION TO ASSEMBLY BILL 7I1
WHEREAS, this board has been apprised of the proposed
legislation contained in Assembly Bill 711; and
WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 711 imposes a concept of regional
government which this board believes to be contrary to strong
local government,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Butte, State of California, as follows:
1. That this board opposes the concepts and theories
expressed in Assembly Bill 711, and respectfully submits the
passage of such legislation would not be in the best interests
of the people of the State of California.
2. That a copy of this resolution be sent to the Honorable
Ronald Reagan, Governor of the State of California, the Honorable

Ray Johnson, Assemblyman of the State of California, the Honorable
Fred Marley, Senator of the State of California, and to the County
Supervisors Association of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California, this 1st day of April,
1969, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dunaway, Maxon, Reynolds and Chaimman McKillop
NOES: None
ABSTAINING: Supervisor Howsden
ABSENT: None
