HomeMy WebLinkAbout69-0611 2, 3 4'~, 5 6, 7 8 9 10' 11 12' 13' 14 ~ 15 16 17 18' 19 20 2I 22' 23 24. 25 2s 27 28 29 30 31 32 RESOLUTION N0, b9-61 BOARD OF SUPERVISORD, COUNTY OF BUTTE RESOLUTION REGARDING CONTROL OF FLOOD WATERS IN THE SACRAMENTO RIVER WHEREAS, existing studies indicate that areas of the State of Caiifornia will be faced with a water shortage prior to the year 1990; and WHEREAS, there is already a present need for additional water-oriented recreational facilities throughout the State of California and such need will continue to increase as the state population increases; and WHEREAS, the County of Butte has suffered severe bank erosion problems and destruction of a portion of its road system adjacent to the Sacramento River during flood stages of said river; and WHEREAS, all of the above-noted problems could be greatly alleviated through the construction of water conservation projects on the tributaries of the Sacramento River; NOW, THEREFORE, BE iT RE50LVED that the 5upexvisors of the County of Butte hereby take the following action: 1, Recommend to the State Reclamation Board, the California Grater Commission and all other agencies involved in the planning, construction and utilization of the water resources of the State of California that an integrated plan for the Upper Sacramento River Basin be pursued which-.-will yield the most efficient use of our internal water resources. 2. The County of Butte endorses the early construction of the water conservation projects outlined in the reports entitled Bulletin No. 150-1 Upper Sacramento River Basin Investi ation by the State Department of Water Resources and Sacramento River Upstream Storage Investigation by the Ralph M.
