HomeMy WebLinkAbout69-0651 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 i4 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 RESOLUTION N0. 69-~ , BOARD OF SUPERVISORS COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALTFORNiA RESOLUTION SUPPORTING ASSEMBLY BILL N0. 76 WHEREAS, legislation has been introduced in Assembly Bi11 No. 76 which appropriates $25,000,000 in addition to the unexpended balance of Item 446.7, Budget Act of 1958, as amended, to the Department of Finance for' the purpose of f~.nancial aid to local agencies; and WHEREAS, said Assembly Bill No. 76 gives flood relief for repair and restoration of damaged public property other than streets, roads, and bridges, damaged o-r destroyed by storms and floods, including tidal wave floods, between November 1, 1968 , and June 30, 1969, if application therefor is made by October 1, 1969; and WHEREAS, said legislation also makes certain money in the Streets and Highways Disaster Fund available for allocation by the State Allocation Board, under the Emergency Flood Relief Law, for repair or restoration of local streets, roads, or bridges damaged or destroyed by storm and flood or flood co nditions, including tidal wave flood conditions, occurring between November 1, 1968, and June 30, 1969; and WHEREAS, Assembly Bill No. 76 also provides for a change in the formula used to determine allocation which may be made under the Emergency Flood Relief Law; and T~'EIEREAS, such additional increase shall be paid for by an increase in the motor vehicle fuel and use fuel taxes, which increase shall be in the amount of .Ol per gallon for six months, or until the Governor proclaims such tax increase is no longer needed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California as follows: 1. That this board strongly supports Assembly Bill No. 76 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 and respectfully request its passage by the legislature. 2. That a copy of this resolution be sent to the Honorable Ray Johnson, Assemblyman, Honorable Fred Marler, Senator and any and all other interested persons.
