BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF HOUSE OF REPRESEPdTATIVES BILL I,G. 9 .
WHEREAS, this board has been advised of a proposed
constitutional amendment by House of Representatives Bill No. 9,
'which taould allow prayer in schools; and
WHEREAS, this board believes that non-denominational prayer
i h~~~ 1ct.
es~l-F1. be allowed and made use of in our public school system at
the discretion of the various school boards,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this board strongly
endorses and supports House of Representatives Bill No. 9, and
respectfully recommends its passage by the Congress of the United
States.
That a copy of this resolution be sent to the Honorable
Harold T. Johnson, Congressman of the United States, the
Honorable George Murphy, Senator of the United States, and the
Honorable A11an Cranston, Senator of the United States.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County .of Butte, State of California, this 1st day of April, 1969,
by the following vote:
