RESOLUTION N0. 69-~
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIF ORNIA
RESOLUTION OPPOSING SENATE BILL N0. 646
WHEREAS, Senate Bill b46 will allow certain counties to
consolidate the functions of the Auditor, Controller, Treasurer,
Tax Collector and Director of Finance; and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 646 establishes the position of a
county officer of a Director of Finance for certain counties; and
WHEREAS, said consolidation would dinimish the electorate
control of county fiscal officers to a certain extent,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Butte, State of California as follows:
1. That although Senate Bi11 646 will not directly affect
the County of Butte, this Board of Supervisors opposes the
concept of such a consolidation and respectfully opposes Sentate
Bill 646 on these grounds.
2. That copies of this Resolution be sent to the Honorable
Fred Marler, Senator of the State of California, the Honorable
Ray Johnson, Assemblyman of the State of California, and to
other such interested persons.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of 'the County
of Butte, State of California, this 22nd day of April, 1969, by
the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dunaway, Maxon, Reynolds and Chairman McKillop
NOES: Supervisor Howsden
ABSENT: None
