RESOLUTION N0. 69- ~~
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION OPPOSING SENATE BIZL 585
WIiEREAS, this board has been made aware of the legislation
proposed in Senate Bi11 585; and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 585 would require that two members of
the Housing Authority be selected from migratory tenants, which
would cripple the operations of our Butte County housing Authority;
and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 585 would add Section 34331 to the
Health and Safety Code, which would considerably damage the
efficient operation of the Butte County Housing Authority; and
WfiEREAS, Senate Bill 585 would add Section 34332 to the
Health and Safety Code, which would so add to the cost of the
operation of the Butte County Housing Authority so as to ma?ce its
survival economically unfeasible,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors
oi` the County of Butte, State of California, as follows:
1. That this board strongly opposes Senate Bill 585, and
respectfully requests that this legislation be defeated.
2. That a copy of this resolution be sent to the Honorable
Ray Johnson, Assemblyman, Honorable Fred Marler, Senator, and the
Honorable Ronald Reagan, Governor or the State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Butte, State of California, this 29th day o.f April, 19b9, by
the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dunaway, Howsden, Maxon, Reynolds and Chairman McKill
NOES : None
