BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STA'L'E OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION IN OPPOSITION Z~0 THE TRANSFER OF
THE ADI~?INISTRATION OF WELFARE FROM THE COUNTIES
TO THE STATE
WHEREAS, this board is aware of agitation of certain of the
counties to remove the administration of the various welfare pro-
grams from the counties to the state; and
WHEREAS, this board believes that local control of the
administration of welfare is necessary to insure efficient and
equitable administration of the program,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Butte, State of California, that this board
oppose any legislation which would remove the administration of
the various welfare programs from the counties to the state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
sent to the Honorable Ronald Reagan, Governor of the State of
California, to the Honorable Fred Marley, Senator of the State of
California, the Honorable Ray Johnson, Assemblyman of the State of
California, and any other interested parties.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
iCounty of Butte, State of California, this 20th day of May, 1969,
by the following vote:
