BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE
State of California
RESOLUTION IN MEMORY OF GARMAN GRAYNE
WHEREAS, this board was grieved to learn of the death of
CARMAN CRAYNE, the Undersheriff of the County of Butte; and
WHEREAS, CARMAN CRAYNE served this county with distinction
and with unselfish devotion far over fifteen years, ten of which
weres~as Undersheriff; and
WHEREAS, CARYiAN CRAYNE made major contributions to the welfare
of Butte County and the State of California, including, but not
limited to his course of instruction for firearms training which
:was adopted by the State of California for use in all of its basic
',schools of law enforcement; a.nd
WHEREAS, CARMAN CRAYNE was one of the foremost marksmen in
.this country,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors
'of the County of Butte, State of California, as follows:
1. That said board hereby memorializes its appreciation
of 'the meritorious services rendered to the County of Butte by
';CARMAN CRAYNE during his lifetime.
2, That the condolences and heartfelt sympathy of this
;board be extended to his wife, Marguerite, and that the clerk of
..this board forward a certified copy of this resolution to her,
3. That the regular meeting of this board held on the 10th
day of June, 1969, be adjourned in memory of CARMAN CRAYNE,
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Butte, State of California, this 10th day of June, 1969, by the
'following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dunaway, Howsden, Maxon, Reynolds and
Chairman Mc~{illop
