RESOLUTION N0. 69-106
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS

WHEREAS, The County of Butte has traffic signals installed at
2
various locations in the County; and
3
WHEREAS, the County does not have adequate personnel or equipment
4
for the maintenance of such traffic signals;
5
NOW, THER,EE`ORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the State of California, Division
6
of T-Tighways, be requested to maintain said signal system at an estimated cost
7
of X500 for the 1969-70 fiscal year.

BE 1T FURTHER RESOLVED that the following "Save Harmless" provision
9
is approved by the Board in connection with such maintenance.

11 " It is expressly understood and agreed by the County that the
State of California and its officers and its employees shall
12 not be answerable or accountable in any manner for injuries
to or the death of persons or for any damage to property re-
13 salting from the operation of or the failure to maintain the
traffic signals.

" The County agrees to indemnify and save harmless the State of
15 California and its officers and employees from all suits,
actions or claims of any character brought as a consequence
16 of the operation of or the failure to maintain. the traffic
signal s.rr

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County w~~,l deposit sufficient funds
18
-not to exceed ~p500 with the Division of Highways for the maintenance of said
19
signals during the 1969--70 fiscal year.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors, County of Butte,
21
State of California, on the 2M-t~th day of June , 1969, by the

following vote:
