HomeMy WebLinkAbout69-110RESOLUTION N0. 69-1.10 1 2; !3 ~' 5 8 7 8; 9 10 lZ 12 13 14 i 15- 16 17 18 19 20 2I 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29: 30 31, 32 i~ BOARD OF SUPERVISORS COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING MENTAL HEALTH ADVISORY BOARD PURSUANT TO WELFARE and INSTITUTIONS CODE SECTION 5600 et seq WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors has, prior hereto and pursuant to the Short-Doyle Act, established an advisory board for the Butte County Mental Health Services; and WHEREAS, said Short-Doyle Act has been amended so as to increase the membership of said advisory board and to otherwise alter the composition thereof, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, pursuant to Section 5600 et seq of the Welfare and Institutions Code of the State of California, that an advisory board, consisting of thirteen members, shall be appointed and that this board shall consist of three physicians and surgeons engaged in the private practice of medicine, one of whom, when available, shall be a specialist in psychiatry. One member shall by the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, or a member designat- ed by the Chairman to serve in his stead, and five members shall be persons representative of the public interest in mental health,: mental retardation and alcholism. Said board shall also contain a psychiatrist, social worker, nurse and hospital administrator, preferably with psychiatric hospital experience. The term of each member~of the board shall be for three years, provided, however, that of the members first appointed, approximately one-third will be appointed for one year, one-third for a term of two years, and one-third for a term of three years. The duties of said advisory board shall be to review and evaluate the community's mental health needs, services, facilities, and special proUlems; review the County Short-Doyle Plan and advise the governing body as to a program of community mental health services and facilities; submit an annual report to the Board of Supervisors; when 2 3 4. 5 6. 7~ ig 9 10 11 12 13 14. 15 16 17 1.8 19 20 21- 22 23 24 23 26 27 28 29 30 3 ]: 32 requested by said Boa rd, may make recommendations regarding the appointment of a local director of mental health services; and act in an advisory capacity to the director of mental health services.
