BOARD OF SUPERVI50RS
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
1' RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING POLICY FOR APPEARANCE BY
COUNTY EMPLOYEES BEFORE LEGISLATIVE COMMITTEES
2 AND OTHER LEGISLATIVE BODTES
3 WHEREAS, this board believes that a formal policy with
4 regards to appearance before legislative committees and other
6 legislative bodies would be of benefit to the county,
6 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors
7 of the County of Butte, State of California, as follows:
8 1. That no member of this board is to take and no employee
9 of this county is to accompany a board member on county time for
10 an appearance before a legislative committee or other legislative
11 body, unless the Board of Supervisors has previously authorized
Z2 such travel.
13 2. 'That no employee shall appear before a legislative
14 committee or other legislative body on county time without prior
15 approval of this board.
16 3. That when a member of tizis board is serving on a
17 committee for either CSAC or the Northern California Supervisors
18 Associatio n, and where that particular board member's opinion of
19 a particular issue is at variance with the stated position of the
20 board, that particular board member shall so advise thew mmittee
21 or organization on which he is serving, however, he sha11 be, of
22 course, free to vote as he sees fit.
23 4. That this resolution does not apply to any appearance
24 in court or before any administrative tribunal.
23 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors, of the
26 County of Butte, State of California, this 1st day of July, 1969,
27 by the following vote:
