COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RE5OLUTION REQUESTING STATE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO
REQUIRE CERTIFICATES OF COMPLIANCE WITH LOCAL ZONING
REGARDING OUTDOOR ADVERTISING DISPLAYS PLACED ALONG
CERTAIN HIGHWAXS WITHIN THE .COUNTY OF BUTTE
WHEREAS, the State Outdoor Advertising Act allows counties
to apply reasonable Land use and zoning regulations to outdoor
advertising displays located adjacent to Interstate and federal aid
primary highways; and
WHEREAS, the County of Butte has enacted such regulations; a
WHEREAS, said Act provides that a county may, by resolution,
require that all applicants for a State outdoor advertising permit
first apply with the county for a certificate of zoning compliance;
I and
WHEREAS, the County of Butte desires to maintain the integri
of its highway zoning regulations,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the State Director of
Public Works henceforth require that all applicants for outdoor
advertising permits for signs to be placed along highways in Butte
County first obtain a certificate of zoning compliance or other
proper proof of compliance with all applicable land use and zoning
regulations of the County of Butte.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Butte County Planning Direc-
tor is hereby designated as the .official with whom applications for
certificates of zoning compliance are to be filed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be
forwarded to the State Director of Public Works, the Butte County
Director of Public Works, and the Butte County Director of Planning
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Butte, State of California, this 22rXi day of July, 1969, by the
following vote:
