RESOLUTION' REGARDING OVERTIME POLICY
FOR COUNTY EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, this board has adopted a new policy affecting the
overtime provisions for county employees; and
WHEREAS, such policy provides for straight time pay for
county employees in lieu of compensatory time off for overtime
worked; and
WHEREAS, the board recognizes there is on record compensatory
time accumulated by employees and earned prior to July 1, 1959; and
WHEREAS, it is the board's intention to allow employees to
use this time as equivalent time off under the provisions of the
previous overtime policy; and
WHEREAS, where persons are allowed time off with pay for
overtime service, the department must perform the work of such
absent employee without additional cost or expense to said department,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors
of the county of Butte, State of California, hereby establish the
following policy for the compensatory time earned prior to July 1,
1969, as follows;
1. The maximum amount of equivalent time off for overtime
permitted in any one calendar year shall be ten (10) working days
unless otherwise ordered by this board,
2. No compensation shall be paid for any compensatory time
earned prior to July 1, 1969.
3. No compensatory time off may be taken pursuant to the
policy initiated in this resolution unless the employee's department
head allows the employee to take compensatory time. Where the
department head so allows an employee to take compensatory time

off pursuant to this policy, the department involved must perform
the work of said absent employee without additional cost or expense
to said department. ',
PASSBD AND ADOPTED 'by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California, this 16th day of September,
1969, by the following vote::,
